Vehicle Detail
UP FOR SALE AT NO RESERVE IS A RARE HARD TO FIND FACTORY ORIGINAL, SURVIVOR, 1985 HONDA NIGHTHAWK 700S OR CB700SC. This bike is all factory stock down to the twin factory pipes, paint and all the warning/informational stickers applied by Honda. The bike has an inline 4 cylinder oil cooled/air-cooled 696cc motor and a 6 speed (5 speed w/ overdrive) transmission. It is a low maintenance bike with hydraulic lifters (which means no valve adjustments) and it is shaft driven so no chain to worry about. It runs & rides great. No mechanical problems what so ever. Everything is in working order from the gear position indicator, the fuel gage, high and low beams, turn signals, all lights, everything. All fluids, brake, clutch and oil were changed at the end of the riding season and the bike has been properly stored with Sta-bil in the gas tank and the battery on a trickle charger. I also put in a new Yuasa battery at the end of the season as well. The tires are good and should get you through the 2011 riding season. This was a real cult classic from Honda as it was probably the best nighthawk ever made. Honda made this model of the Nighthawk from 1984-86. This bike has great styling with a comfortable seating arrangement and has plenty of power and does everything great. You can use this bike to commute on, or blast around on curvy roads, or take it cross country as a sport tourer. These bikes are getting very hard to find in an original, unmodified state and in good shape with decent miles (26580 /average 1023 per year). While this bike is not in showroom condition (it is now 26 years old) it is a very nice and clean example of this model. There are a few slight blemishes and or scratches on the tank and around the bike that don’t really detract from the appearance of the bike but I feel should be mentioned. I have a rare luggage rack for this model (not on it now but included in the sale) and a tank bag to go with it. One of the pictures that I have posted shows the bike with these on it. Please feel free to ask any questions prior to bidding. I will be happy to discuss the bike over the phone as well if you wish or make myself available to show the bike if you are in the area. Email me and I will send my phone number to you. The bike is available for pickup in Indianapolis Indiana or I will work with your shipping company to get the bike to you once payment has cleared. I am offering this bike at NO RESERVE with the bidding to start at $100! Good luck! I require a $300 non refundable deposit with 24 hours of auction end and full payment within 7 business days. And last please don’t bid if you can’t complete the transaction. Your bid is a contract to buy this bike. Make sure you finances are in place and you have cleared this with your wife, parents, whoever may object with you purchasing this bike prior to bidding… I will report non paying bidders to eBay.On Jan-07-11 at 08:53:36 PST, seller added the following information: 1/7/2011 Update: I have loaded 4 new pictures of the bike taken today as it currently sits stored in my garage covered with a MotoJacket. Please note that the MotoJacket is not part of this auction. Thanks! On Jan-10-11 at 11:32:07 PST, seller added the following information: 1/10/11 Update: I have added more pictures to the listing showing the inside of the gas tank, underneath the seat, under the bike, the forks, and the battery area.
