Vehicle Detail
This MGB is in good condition. It includes a new soft top and new carpet set, however the carpets and top have not been installed. One of the reasons that the top is not installed is because the directions say that the temperature should be 75 degrees for the top to be installed properly. I don't expect to see the temperature to be that high in Michigan until May. The carpet is not installed because I thought that whoever buys the car may want to do some additional work or cleaning around the floor pan and wouldn't want to have to tear up new carpet to do this. The wheels have been sandblasted and painted. The tires are in good condition. There is a battery cut off switch in the rear package tray which makes for a great security device. It has a radiator from another vehicle which works just fine, but I have an original radiator that will need to be re-cored plus the 2 electric cooling fans and guard that will go with the car. Yes, there is some rust in the front fenders, bottom of the doors and dog legs and the car could use a coat of paint. But, all in all, it’s a pretty decent car. This would be a good car to do a rolling restoration on so you could still drive it while doing the work. There is 2 sided foil insulation on the floor pan pkus some on the firewall. I will include some additional insulation with the car if the buyer wants to insulate the tunnel before installing the carpet. The tires are Cooper 185/65R14 and have good tread left on them. I purchased this car earlier this summer, but I have decided to sell it because I have another ’80 MGB, plus 2 Austin Healey Sprites, and I just don’t have enough time to build, rebuild, and maintain that many cars. The previous owner included a list of repairs needed. I have completed some of the repairs on his list and will include the list with the car for the next owner. There is an aftermarket mechanical oil pressure gauge in the dash which works. I will include the original gauge that came with the car in case the buyer wishes to put it back in. It does work, I just like the SW gauge that I put in it better. Also, there is an aftermarket mechanical water tempurature gauge that's in a seperate bracket installed under the dash. I installed this gauge because the factory gauge didn't work because the temp sensor in the engine had the electrical connector broken off. I have bought a new temp sensor and will replace it and remove the SW gauge before the close of this auction. This car is being sold in "as is" condition from my home in Ann Arboe, Michigan. There is no warranty for this vehicle.
