1978 Suzuki PE 250

1978 Suzuki PE250. Ready to go! I just put a fresh top end in the bike so you don't have too! Only run long enough to cure the hi heat paint, and ridden .4 miles to make sure all is good. First over (.025) bore in the cylinder, Genuine Suzuki piston, rings, wristpin bearing. Wristpin is Weisco. New Boyeson reed valves installed. Cylinder, head, exhaust pipe and flange were all media blasted to bare metal and recoated with the BEST Hi Heat Paint available. Has a new carburetor, new Clarke Mfg. gas tank, new UFO front and back fenders and headlight. (I never liked the old PE headlight assemblies, they just always looked cobbled together to me.) Both head and tail light work as does the odometer which I will leave with the .4 miles I put on it since the rebuild to make sure all is good. Runs though all six gears and the clutch has new plates and discs. Forks have been rebuilt with new NOS seals. Tires are fairly new, they still have some of the nipples left on them. The only thing left that I would do is put on a new chain, sprockets are fairly new. Dial in the carb, and enjoy! Its in great shape for a 32 year old dirt bike, I've removed all of the "Frankenbolts" and dufus fixes it incurred prior to my owning it. The only thing rigged is the silencer gasket, but it looks nice and has worked fine since 2003! Coffee can under the kickstand in photo is because I have a steep driveway. I love this bike, it has a fat cushy seat, enough suspension travel to enjoy any terrain, I'm 5'11" and I can still put both feet on the ground, and it has a kickstand! remember those! I certainly Hate to sell it but a back injury has taken me out of the game. This bike has been my baby and taken good care of the 8 years I've enjoyed it. People will stop you on the trail to look at it. Older fellas will regail you with stories of the one they had. I have the original carb and some other spare parts I'll throw in. Buyer will also get First opportinity to but an extra engine I have as well. Parts in the photo were used in the rebuild. I do not have the original tank, fenders or headlight. All the plastic is new, except side covers are original. I built this bike to ride and enjoy, not to show. Bike can be picked up in Plano Texas, or I will deliver or meet you up to 250 miles or so from Plano Texas for .80 cents per mile. If you hire a shipper, bike must be paid in full or it goes nowhere.
