Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1978 Trans Am. This car was purchased NEW by my late uncle in 1978, for $7265.11,and has never left the family. This car is an amazing example of an all original, numbers matching, un-restored and un-altered Trans Am. The car has the original (403) V-8, which was rare motor on this car and it runs as strong and smooth as the day it drove off the showroom floor. The automatic transmission shifts smooth through all the gears. This car drives 75 mph on the highway as comfortable and quiet as any car I have ever driven. The car has been babied and lovingly maintained since it was new. I have EVERY receipt for each minor part, repair, or service that has ever been completed on this car, including a detailed record of EVERY oil change it has had since new. I have included a photo of the original window sticker of this car. The interior if the car is near perfect with the exception of a small 4-5" crack in the middle console (see photo). The carpet is original, the seats were never driven in without towels placed on them. The interior is the custom fabric, not vinyl. All of the gauges, tach, original radio, clock and even the cigarette lighter work. (it is noted, the clock in this car has never kept accurate time from the day it was purchased. It was sent to Denver in 1979 for repair, but came back with the same problem. As I stated, this car has not been restored, but is without a doubt the most original Trans Am available today. The car is rust free. The only body work that has seen this car was a small dent in the front passenger fender. The Trans Am was backed into by a truck roughly 10 years ago. The body work was minor and done well, however, the paint on the front fender was not a 100% match to the original paint ( I honestly don't know why it was never redone). It is very close but not dead on (see photo). This and the small crack on the console are the ONLY flaws that I can see with this car. It is not perfect, but as close as you get for a 32 year old un-restored car. This auction will have no reserve. The car will be sold to the highest bidder. Do NOT bid on the car if you don't live in the lower 48 states. I am not wasting my time with out of country buyers. I will help get this car loaded on the carrier of your choice, at the buyers cost. I have tried to give you all the details I have on this car, but feel free to email me with any questions you might have. Full payments is due with 72 hours of auction close. Good Luck!
