This unique Luxury Chrysler Windsor Highlander would be an asset to any museum or private collection. Built on the same chassis as the Town & Country and New Yorker, this Windsor is further distinguished by the colorful and wonderful Highlander option. The Highlander featured a luxurious plaid cloth interior and special badging which is all original in this car. The Highlander interior made the already luxurious Windsor even more so. This Chrysler is equipped with the famously durable and smooth flathead six-cylinder engine. This engine cranks over and starts easily, and runs as smooth as it did the day it was built. The engine is mated to the legendary Chrysler "Fluid-Drive" transmission. Fluid-Drive, while still utilizing a clutch, allowed the user to select either Lo or Hi range on the transmission, engage the clutch, and never need to touch the clutch again unless shifting to Reverse or to another range. The Fluid-Drive acted much like a modern automatic transmission in that you could start and stop the car without having to use a clutch pedal. The sumptuous Highlander original cloth-clad seats and interior is in excellent condition and are very comfortable, considering that they are 62 years old.
