1970 Camaro RS/SS 396 This is a 1970 Camaro RS/SS I have no documentation as to say for sure it's an SS396. It has the Rally Sport noise and does have the SS steering wheel and SS dash 150MPH speedo and 7K tach. The car has a Big Block 396 casting number 3999290 -1972,396/402 and turbo 400 trans with 12 bolt 3:73 posi rear. The motor is not stock it has a noisy gear drive, large loopy cam shaft, headers, aluminum intake, Holley duel feed carb and high tourqe starter. Has a nice large aluminum radiator to keep her cool, she runs at 190 on most days. I was at Daytona Turkey Rod run this year and it took over an hour to get in and she never got over 210. The trans has a 3500 stall converter and shift kit. The car has power front disc brakes and power steering. The hood is a fiberglass 4" cowl that has a hood prop to hold it up. It has a Flowmaster duel exhaust out the back. The paint is Hugger Orange (original Citrus Green) it's a very nice driver quality. It looks like some of the panels where painted at a different time and don't exactly match but most people can't tell. There are some touch up spots and small imperfections. There is some plastic filler in the quarters and I'm sure other spots but overall not bad. There are some small bubbles down by the rockers where it meets the quarter panel. The trunk is solid but could use some cleaning and new spatter paint. The floors are also solid but there was rust on the frame rails in front of the axel that was patched (see pictures) the pans are nice and solid. There is one rust spot in the corner on the left pan where it meets the fram rail (see pic's) It does have frame connectors to stop it from twisting. The interior is a good driver quality, not perfect. The dash pad is curling from the sun. The seats are nice, carpet and headliner look good. The door panels are OK not perfect and arm rest has some small cracks. The lights and signals work but most of the gages are not working, the speedometer does work. There is an aftermarket oil and temp gage in the consol that work. The door rubbers are new and the rest of the rubbers are in good shape. The windows go up and down good and glass looks good. The car runs very strong and starts right up and Idels good. I don't think the motor has a ton of miles she just runs and sounds great. The car has a nice stance with 2" lowering blocks in the rear and air shocks so the tires don't scrape. The rims are Craigar 5 star 15X8 with nice BFG 295/50R15 tires on rear and Kenetica Radial 15X4-195/65R15 in front. The car is not purfect and not a show winning trailer queen, but she is a great driver that's very reliable and very fast. If you have any questions please call 813-478-3449.
