Vehicle Detail
1971 Triumph Stag, left-hand drive, serial number T2106LD. This California car runs and drives well. It has the original Triumph V-8 motor. The car was regularly driven, then involved in an estate sale and stored for several years. The previous owner spent a great deal of money keeping this car in excellent running condition. I have over eight thousand dollars in receipts from the last 15 years. The Stag’s mechanical systems were checked and if needed were either rebuilt or replaced. The upholstery was restored. The car has been driven less than 1000 miles since the work was done. Some receipts that I have include: · New cylinder heads · New engine seals · Complete brake job including new master cylinder, wheel cylinders, etc. · Cooling system refurbished · Charging system refurbished (including battery, alternator overhaul, new regulator etc.) · New starter · Ignition unit · Front and rear seats recovered · New carpet · New door panels · New trunk carpet I’ve only driven this around my neighborhood but it drives very well. The engine runs great; starts right up and runs strong. The car also brakes well and the Borg Warner Automatic 3 speed transmission shifts smoothly, including up-shifts. The previous owner spent a lot on this car but there are some items that remain to be addressed. The dash needs to be refinished including some plastic pieces and the glove box latch. The passenger side electric window doesn’t work (switch?). The car has been re-sprayed and overall is in good condition but has some issues. The car is very solid but there are a few isolated small bubbles that may be rust or poor prep in the paint on the hood and on the front of the car (see photos). The bumpers are straight but need to be re-chromed. The convertible top was replaced but can’t be lowered completely (not sure why). It looks great but it has a couple of tears. The engine has an oil leak that I think is coming from a valve cover. The car has air conditioning but I don’t think it works. I’ve tried to represent the car as accurately as possible but please ask questions if you have them. The car runs great but I would not recommend trying to drive it home any great distance from Los Angeles. The car has been stored for a number of years and should be gone through before returning to service. Winning bidder can use PayPal for the deposit. If you would like to pay the entire balance with PayPal you will need to split the fees with me. The car is available for inspection at my home in Los Angeles.
