Vehicle Detail
Presented for sale is a 1993 BMW 850CI. This is a full size, 12 cylinder sports coupe ready for a new owner. Same family ownership since the car was new. Two conservative drivers, the first drove the car between 1993 and 2000. The second drove it between 2000 and the present. Black exterior with a black interior, the car is equipped with a six speed manual transmission which is very smooth and has no issues. The paint is in overall good condition, with some areas been recently repainted and expertly blended together. The hood has some stone chips commensurate with the age of the car. There are a few bubbles in the paint at the following locations: driver side middle (a paint chip), passenger side lower, the sunroof at the driver and passenger side, and the driver side A pillar. The glass all around is excellent. The windshield is less than two years old. The interior presents very well. The leather has aged quite nicely and is in good condition. The steering wheel is mint. All controls inside are functioning with the exception of the driver side seat- it will not tilt backwards past a certain point. The car has heated seats which are fully operational. Steering wheel tilts up when you exit the vehicle. Custom "850" embroidered car mats front and rear. Air conditioning (stratified for upper and lower registers- just like a Rolls Royce) was overhauled over the summer and is in excellent order. The engine has had a knocking noise for about four years, I have not had it diagnosed and it does not effect performance. The check engine light occasionally goes on, it is believed to be tied to an oxygen sensor that is out (common occurrence on the eight series- my brother had a matching 840 and was constantly replacing the oxygen sensors). Tires are about two years old and have plenty of tread. Batteries are recent replacements and have plenty of life. I have all manuals, books and records for the last 10 years. One remote is available, and three keys total. This car is ready to go. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. Driving this car, especially at highway speeds, is a very pleasurable experience. This car was built for the Autobahn. It loves to be driven fast! Everytime I would consider selling this car, I would have random strangers come up to me and tell me how awesome the car looked, or how it was their dream car growing up. This would always change my mind, but unfortunately I have now purchased a CL55 AMG and the 850CI has to go! It has been my trusty daily driver for 10 years, but I am now out of space. Call Scott at (312) 282-4430 for more details. The car can be viewed in Frankfort, IL, 30 miles south of Chicago. The car has been in one accident- it was rear-ended and fixed entirely. There is no evidence of repair. Clear Illinois vehicle title. No warranty, express or implied. Sold as-is, where-is.
