Vehicle Detail
I've owned this car since 1992. It was originally sold in CA, was driven to South Florida in the late 1980s, and has been here ever since. In the eighteen years that I've owned it, nearly every significant mechanical part has been replaced, sometimes more than once, by a mechanic who specializes in BMW vehicles. Almost all of the cooling system was replaced about one year ago, as well as the fuel lines, and many of the engine's electronic components. The original R-12 AC system was completely replaced with an R-134 system. The heads were redone about 25,000 miles ago. Note that the odometer was replaced once as well. The car was repainted once about eight years ago, and all rust problems fixed then. It has since developed new rusting issues. The interior was also re-upholstered at that time. Last week, after I ran an errand, it would not crank. I believe that the starter motor needs to be replaced, but I am not sure that that I am right. Until recently, I drove the car on long multi-state trips without incident. The car is sold AS IS. I will post or send more pictures if you would like, and answer any questions that you may have about it. You will arrange for shipping or to pick up locally, but I will be happy to make any reasonable On Dec-07-10 at 09:16:11 PST, seller added the following information: I've owned this car since 1992. UPDATE (DEC 7, 2010): In response to a question from a potential purchaser, I went to the car this morning and, lo and behold, it started. Perhaps it was the cold weather snap. I made two videos: It starts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awoaSU7ObnM It moves: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9nC_jzsr1Y The car is sold AS IS.
