Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Up for sale is a very nice 2001 quad cab, 4x4 automatic shift tacoma, with a bunch if I-35 miles on it. My commute is 100miles round trip, so the miles add up quick. If you are looking for a dealer prep, highly detailed, it looks better than it really is truck – this is not it. The pictures are as I drive it, no detailing work, no trying to hide anything, no special cleaning, etc… It is really just this nice as a daily driver. I purchased this truck on ebay a few years ago, and it’s been a great kid hauler. The ARE tonneau, and bed liner make the bed one big trunk / storage. I have enjoyed the clean/dry storage in the back the tonneau provides. It is invaluable on trips to the airport, etc where you have suitcases or other items you don’t want to throw in a wet dirty pickup bed. It also makes coming home from the grocery or other shopping outing a pleasure. Did I say this thing hauls kids well? I purchased this truck in 06, when the new tacoma’s had come out. After test driving an ‘06, the new Tacoma had the B piller right in the wrong spot, so you have a side blind spot, and the bigger, fluffier rear seat actually had LESS legroom than the 01-04 models. This made my choice to get an 01-04 pretty easy. I figured it would last me until Toyota came out with a model that I would be happy with purchasing new. A red ’11 rock warrior crewmax is now in my driveway. I need to document what’s different than what Toyota put on this truck, so here goes: 1. There is an aftermarket code alarm keyless with remote start. The remote start is handy when it’s snowing outside… It’s December right now…. Snow is coming. 2. This truck didn’t come with the world’s best truck tire on it – I had them installed. NTB put on 265 75r16 BFGoodrich A/T ko’s. Included is the paperwork and lifetime mount/balance. My beloved 330k 95.5 tacoma got about 150k miles per set of BFG’s. This set has about 80k, so I figure there’s at least 60k left on these. The pictures show lots of tread available all around. 3. The stereo, The stereo, The stereo…. If you know much about 01-04 quad cabs, you know there is NO option for bass other than door speakers. A sub just doesn’t fit. Well the last 20 years of custom audio installations has taught me nothing is impossible. JL audio 10w1v2 in a .5cu.ft. cabinet, Soundstream amplifier, Audio Control EQL, and Boston Acoustic 6.5 pro components up front. The tweeters are in the sail panels, right where they are supposed to be, not in the factory door location. I had a computer touch screen installed and removed it, to put the stock head unit back in. It still sounds like the worlds best 01-04 tacoma stereo, even with the stock head unit. A side bonus is a Line Level cable under the front passenger seat that you can connect a cable to your iPod in the center console. Very nice. 4. The above mentioned bed liner and ARE hard fiberglass tonneau, A Class III hitch and four wire connector. So, what’s wrong with it. It’s got 191k miles, so something has to be wrong, right? 1. brakes. The brakes are good, but starting to ‘pulse’ when you nail them hard, that usually means to me it’s time for rotors, and/or rear drums. The brakes have good pad to them, but if I were wanting to keep this truck for the next 200k miles, I’d make a brake appointment and have them brought back to new. 2. If you look close you can see some marks on the chrome, especially on the back bumper close to the hitch area. 3, Paint. It’s a 10 year old truck, so even though the paint looks great, there are very small chips, etc. Also the passenger side door was keyed before I purchased it, and it was fixed with ‘touch up’ paint. All paint imperfections you won’t be able to see in the pictures, but rest assured – they are there when you look very close. Ok, so if that’s all that’s wrong with it, what surprises are there? What should I expect to find or not find? NO Rust bucket... No body rust, no wheel well rust, no frame rust -- it’s solid.4 Wheel drive that works perfectly. No issues with the 4x4, all works great.COLD A/C and great heat. In the Kansas heat/cold this is especially nice.Good electrical, all doors, windows, lights operating properly, no electrical issuesOil changed at 7k intervals with full synthetic only. (just changed at 190k)Tight steering, no tire shake, no pulling left/right, good alignment.Quiet. No strange noises, no squeals, squeaks, or something else that says ‘uh-oh’comfortable, no marks, no issues seats/interior.No smoking, never… clean -- no smellsHeadlights/Taillights/TurnSignals/Trailer connections all goodGood shifting / quiet / clean oil in transmissionClean Kansas title, ready to be signed over to you. I have the full autocheck and carfax reports that show the full history of this vehicle. It was a theft / recovery vehicle. No damage to my knowledge other than the keying of the door. When I purchased it from the ebay auto dealer, they didn’t disclose it was a theft and it had a clean title when I purchased it. Until I ran the autocheck, I had no idea. As you can see, it’s been a great truck for me, and the only reason for sale is that I have a brand new crewmax. I’ve read this entire list and am interested in purchasing – what are the purchase details? This is a used truck, it’s as is, where is. I’ve represented it accurately.$500 non refundable deposit paypal in 3 days, 14 days max for full payment/delivery. You don’t complete sale in 14 days, deposit is forfeit and sale void.
