Very original Vespa 400. It is in running and driving condition. We recovered the car from a garage, where it had been sitting for many years. It took very little to get car running and driving. We have only driven the car locally. In order to do any of the long distance trips with us in this car, we would recommend the motor and transaxle to be rebuilt and all the bearing to be replaced. However we think this would make the perfect car for one of our cross country drives on Rt 66. The next one being in Spring of 2012. We did the trip in a Vespa 400 just like this one, back in Aug 2010. We believe this is one of the cars that sit at the ports in Fl for a while before being sold. It has the orange paint and the repairs to floor that was common among the cars that sit there for so long. We have installed new seats and door panels on interior. Also we installed a new top. New tail light lens were installed. The car came without a top. Not sure it has had one on it since getting painted. There were no signs of scratches on body where the top would sit down on it. There are scratches and small dents on body from the extended storage in garage. But it appears all the rust was cut away and now car is very sound.
