Vehicle Detail

1972 DODGE CHALLENGER 440 Ci, 4-SPEED Relisting at a $1,500 discount Buy-It-Now There is 115 miles on this fresh Big Block 440 HP!!!! Extremely quick and responsive..... JUST COMPLETED A RESTO-MOD ON THIS ORIGINAL 72 RALLYE, 4-SPEED.....BUILT A 68 HP 440 Ci BIG BLOCK. VEHICLE RUNS EXCELLENT AND IS EXTREMELY QUICK AND TORQUIE! MOTOR CURRENTLY HAS ONLY 104 MILES ON IT SO "NO" FREEWAY YET, TRYING TO BREAK IN CORRECTLY WHICH SHOULD TAKE 500 MILES TO DO IT RIGHT, WHICH WILL BE YOUR TASK IF YOU ARE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO WIN THIS CLASSIC HOT ROD.... Quick note; this vehicle was born a 340 pistol grip four speed rallye, in 1978 the vehicle was stolen and the motor was removed and sold. The body was recovered and it spent most of its life on the side yard waiting to be restored. The nice thing is that one it is a true CALIFORNIA CAR, two it is a rallye 4 speed true JS code and three it sat so long that there are virtually very few miles on the chasis. THE BUILD: 68 HP Big Block Forged Crank Car 906 Heads built to factory spec with heavy duty springs .30 over ARP bolt kit Chromally rings New everything inside except original pistons were in excellent shape so I used them 750 cfm dual feed Summit Carburetor Performer intake Distributor-Points Hedman Comp Headers Mopar Valve Covers Mopar Air Cleaner 402 Factory Oil Pan 833 Transmission Pistol Grip Factory Shifter Interior has new carpet Seats are in good conditon, not perfect some weak seams Speedometer works but makes a slight winding noise Tachometer does not work Heater works Wipers work Turn signals, brake lights, interior lamp, interior cluster all light up and work properly Dash Cap - New Vin missing in Dash Core due to the theft it was drilled out but when California Highway Patrol recovered the vehicle they STAMPED A BLUE AND SILVER Vin Tag on the Driver Door Frame which is required in California. I am waiting for the Department of Motor Vehicles to mail me the Pink Slip as I just registered the car on 9/10/2010, it takes 90 days in the wonderful state of California due to Furloughs.... Beefy Treads all around Crager Deep Dish Rear Tires Crager Standard Front Tires Air Shocks in rear Dual exhaust, brand new Factory Exhaust Mopar Tips Underneath completely detailed Drum Factory Brakes all around (completely rebuilt and brand new pads, springs, rotors, etc.) New headliner B-5 Factory Color Base Coat, Clear Coat Dupont base and Chromabase Clear, color sanded and buffed....not perfect but beautiful Rallye hood the same one it was born with... This Rallye Chally is a dream car to drive not only does it deliver an awesome ride you wouldn't believe what a head turner it is.. the throttle response is unreal and the motor is very throatie and quick. Reverse is tight to go in and out but works fine. First gear, third and fourth are perfect but second gear is pretty tight so the syncro may need replacing. Don't mis-interpret what I am saying the vehicle runs and drives excellent I just want to describe its condition so there are no surprises. There is one blue California original license plate the other was never recovered. This vehicle will not disappoint......Enjoy bidding. I reserve the right to cancel this listing at anytime as it is for sale locally as well. If you would like to see and drive the vehicle please contact me at (916) 402-1836, Mitch. On Nov-30-10 at 09:22:56 PST, seller added the following information: I posted old interior pictures, please note: The passenger door handle is on the vehicle, the passenger seat belts are on the vehicle. I will include the shoulder harness belts with the auction as well. They are not installed but the company that installed the new headliner put the screws in behind the headliner so that if someone wanted them attached they could locate the mounting areas easily by feeling for the screws. On Dec-03-10 at 09:19:14 PST, seller added the following information: TIME FOR THIS 72 RALLYE CHALLY TO SELL..... THE PRICE IS REDUCED TO BUY IT NOW FOR 18 K, UNDER WHAT IT TOOK TO COMPLETE! THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A 4 SPEED PISTOL GRIP BIG BLOCK AT A VERY AGGESSIVE AND VALUE PRICE..... FEEL FREE TO CALL WITH ANY QUESTIONS....(916) 402-1836
