1969 AMC AMX....Here is a 1969 Amx that was a drag car for most of it's life...When found it had many SS Amx parts with it...When this car was built by Amc it had the 390, 4 speed, Go Pack option...This car comes with the title that matches the frame number...If you have a '68, '69 or '70 Amx or Javelin that has a lot of rust, then this is the car for you...The underneath of this car has no undercoating to hide any problems or bad workmanship...At the current labor rate accross the country, it would cost many thousands of dollars to get something this nice to start with...The body is straight with a few small dimples / dings caused by careless storage...Paint is good for a race car...Roof needs re-painted as paint is very thin...The car has lacquer paint on the body and acrylic enamel underneath and in the engine bay...The rear 1/4 panels are rust free and are in very nice condition...The rear wheel well openings have been enlarged as per the Hurst SS Amx bulletins that were sent to original SS Amx owners...They have been professionally done in all metal just as the factory did...To an untrained eye they cannot be told from stock wheel openings...The car had the trunk floor cut for a fuel cell and this has been repaired with a new trunk floor...The car has the battery cable run to the trunk and is the same cable the real Hurst cars used back in the day...The cable that is sold today is not even close to being correct...The engine compartment is very nice and there is a metal delete plate where the heater blower would be...The front troughs are solid...The frame rails are very nice...all of the front structure, including the top tie bar is very nice and looks very good...There is no rust or pits on the right front inner panel where the battery tray sits, as the tray was removed many years ago and was moved to the trunk...The car has a 1/2" aluminum fuel line from front to back, also new relocated brake lines...There is a back glass, both quarter windows and both of the door glass (clear), there is no windshield...the metal around the windshield and back glass is very nice with all of the studs for the stainless trim being good...front and rear stainless trim is included and in excellent condition... The floor is very nice...All the threaded plates on the floor for the seats and seat belts are excellent with good threads and no broken bolts or studs...The doors and fenders fit the car very nice...All of the body lines including the hood are excellent...The hood is very high quality fiberglass and the holes for the cross ram carbs are exactly positioned where they should be (*see Amx-1.com)...No interior, suspension, bumpers, or lights come with this car...There is a very nice modified dash and engine compartment wire harness and head light,turn signal harness included with the car...The car will be bolted to a skid and can be loaded on a roll back, car trailer or enclosed trailer...There is no reserve on this car, it will be sold to the highest bidder, there is many additional pics available to serious buyers.On Nov-24-10 at 18:11:21 PST, seller added the following information: There are no front fender extensions, or headlights on the fenders,no grill,steering column,pedals,or dash,no interior or seats,no rear end,gas tank or bumpers,grill or tail lights.This is a bare body.it does have the metal delete plate on the firewall,battery cable from the trunk to engine bay,dash and complete front wire harness,The doors have working windows and the back glass is included along with nice stainless trim for the windshield and back glass.There are new relocated brake lines,and new fuel line.there also is a lakewood drive shaft hoop,and rear end snubbers.On Nov-25-10 at 05:09:21 PST, seller added the following information: Notice,The picture of the complete car was only used to show the body lines and how well the parts fit.Most of the parts have been removed and not included in this auction.This auction is for the complete bare body .Interested bidders are urged to contact us for any questions or additional pictures.
