Vehicle Detail

I bought this truck 4 years ago in Idaho from the son of the original owner . It was a Plentywood, Montana ranch truck and it was outfitted for work and pleasure as the family vehicle. The mileage is accurate. I used it occassionally to take yard waste to the recycler, but mainly to take a road trip like they did 44 years ago. This is a rock solid truck with a great personality and wear appropriate for age and mileage. It starts, runs, steers, shifts and stops great. I replaced the clutch slave cylinder, had the carburator rebuilt, tuned it up and adjusted the brakes. If you like to tinker with old trucks this is the one. In the last couple of weeks, I have taken it on a couple of 100+ mile round trips, including some freeway time at 65mph. It has the 304 V8 w/Holly 2 brl, T-16 4sp w/granny low, 12" heavy duty clutch,T141 2sp transfer case, factory locking hubs, and 4.09 axle ratios on the FA16 and RA16 axles. It has the factory optional auxillary springs with the 5700GVW. It has a Chelsea PTO which drives a shaft on the rear bumper. It also has the 8 1/2' Bonus Bed. The tires are 235/75/15 which are similar in diameter to the originals. It could handle much larger tires, but these look almost new so I let them alone. The interior is in very good shape, even the seat covers are pretty nice. The gauges all work, although the gas gauge hovers around 1/4 tank until it starts to get empty. The drivers side door handle can be a little tricky but it works once you get the hang of it.Turn signals and lights work properly. The original radio is missing and the replacement is not hooked up properly. There is also the optional Super Capacity Heater/Defroster to keep you warm on those cold North Montana nights. The biggest flaw of this truck is the floor boards. On the drivers side there is part of an old metal sign covering the floor and you can see about a 2" by 1/4" patch of daylight on the edge of the floor board. The passenger side floor board is rusty but still solid and will need to be addressed. There is also some rust on the front wheel wells behind the floor boards but it is still relatively solid. Any other rust on the truck is surface rust. The paint is well worn, and like tarnish on silver, I consider this to be patina and desireable. If you like them shiny new the cab is in excellent condition and would clean up well. The bed has its share of dents and dings, but will smooth out as well. The only other thing I can think of is the latch on one side of the tailgate does not engage, it works but needs to be adjusted. I wish I could keep the truck, but I am retiring and moving back to Idaho and I have to downsize. Please email me with questions, or send me your phone number and I'll call you. Bidding will start at $200.00. I have a small reserve on the truck as insurance. I will require a $200.00 deposit to be sent to me within 48 hours of the close of the auction. If you have less than 5 transactions on ebay contact me before you bid. It should go without saying that that just like the truck I am old fashioned and I am looking for a straight forward transaction. No scams or smoke and mirrors please. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
