I'll start with saying this 325ic has an IOWA junking certificate...Next year in Iowa you can apply for a "bonded" title since it will be 25 years old. This would make it legal to drive, license and insure. Most states will let you do it now with a state inspection though. Car report shows a salvage title in 97 and I have no idea why?? I am a bodyman of 24 years and I can NOT find any repairs and paint all appears to be original?? It does not matter since I do not have a title and I will not be getting a title for it, I have a junking certificate which is a legal bill of sale to show ownership in Iowa without any tags to drive...if that makes any sense BUT before a person gets to that step, it needs to be road worthy first.. Here's the story on it that I know....I bought it from a European repair shop where it has sat for several years, prior to that it aslo sat for some time, this is why the top is dry rotten from the sun and will NEED replacement. The former owner hooked up the battery with the wires crossed and fried a computer or 2...The repair shop said the engine compression was excellent and had power to the starter but it would not fire without the computer and some modules replaced..The suspension, brakes and such are in great shape since the car has sat inside while it was at the repair shop. It is a 5 speed car and all stock. It is missing a turn lense cover on the driver's side bumper and the fog lamp has a broken lense but pass side fog lamp is PERFECT!! The body does have some dings and small dents, the biggest landing on the pass. side door (see pic) BUT all very minor for the year and age, a GOOD buffing would make it look amazing. All the paint appears original and is "single" stage paint from the 80's, base coat clear coat here!!! So it must be facotry paint which should back up the theroy of low mileage?? The gauge cluster read 65k and we believe that to be true but the cluster was sold prior to me buying the car. SO, this is why it is sold as a parts car to rebuild or dismantle. I just felt it was in too good of shape for me to rip it apart. The interior is well keep and SUPER clean but does have some dried up seats with splits, especially in the rear seat. It has the spare tire, tool kit, radio code and 2 keys...all parts are there minus the cluster and a couple rear window buttons I needed for mine, exhaust is good but the muffler is shot and original too. I have not powered her up since the negative battery cable is missing??? It will be sold as a non-running car that will need to be trailed out of my garage no later than 2 weeks after the sale....Call jason with any other questions 641-529-0703 I am located 2 hours south of the twin cities in Clear Lake, IOWA on interstate 35, SUPER easy to get to.
