Vehicle Detail
Up for auction I have my 2000 Jetta GLX. All I can say is that it is reliable. Now onto the details. The car has 139,XXX miles on it (probably a few more by weeks end). It is a 5 spd and I had the clutch replaced at 129,000 miles. The tires have plenty of tread left. They were replaced at 109,000, so they probably have another 35,000-40,000 miles left on them. New Battery installed last week. The door locks are goofy on the car. The back ones do not work on the switch, so they need to be locked manually (but they do lock). They went years ago, but 90% of the time it is just me driving, so it was not worth getting fixed. The passenger side front door window makes a goofy noise when you put it up. I think it is on it's last legs so I don't put it down ever. It could last forever, I just don't want to take the chance. The air blows cold, so no need for it. There is also a dent in the passenger side rear flare. That happened years ago when a deer ran into the car. Also, someone keyed both sides at the airport, but I was able to get most of it out, so it looks decent from 10 feet. One more, the cup holder broke as well. Also, there is an idiot light on, which points to the brakes. The brakes are fine, so I think the wire just came off the sensor. I drive the car everyday, so if it needed brakes I would know. So, I know it sounds like alot, but it is not that bad and it is reliable as all hell, and would make a perfect college or city car. It is already bruised up, so you won't feel bad if something happens to it. Oh, one more thing the rear springs may need replacing. They make funny noises when I go over speed bumps. I just never got around to replacing them. I have replaced the struts on all four corners though. If this doesn't sell, I will just keep it through the winter than do something with it. As I said it is reliable and I would pretty much take it anywhere. The VR6 is a bulletproof engine, and with the newer clutch, you should be able to get some life out of it. I have the reserve set around the KBB private party value for this car in poor condition. Please email me with questions. I bought this new, so I know the entire history of the car.
