Vehicle Detail
1966 IHC 1100 1/2 ton stepside 4x4. Great and solid original that deserves restoration. Very nice condition for a 44 year old work truck. I've used it as a wood hauler since '01 and just have too many projects on the burner, and hate to see it sit here and deteriorate. The truck was originally from Montana, and I bought it in Kansas. Very solid and straight truck, and mileage appears actual. Great look with the 4x4 and the 8 1/2 foot stepside, looks like a full size tonka truck. Still has tailgate, brightwork is good, and interior is pretty nice, especially the seat upholstery. This truck was pretty heavily optioned for the year according to the line set ticket. It's got 4.75 gears, rear overload springs, the 266 cid V8 with a floor-mounted 4 speed. Squats less under load than my new F350. I parked this a bit over a year ago due to the clutch/brake slave cylinder leaking, so it will need trailered. Before that ran clean and didn't burn oil (just leaked it-typical IH). Will also need a new battery. Brakes (all 4) were rebuilt about 2000 miles ago, and she has 4 comanche 10x31x15 radial a/t tires with great tread on stock Scout spoke wheels. I put Warn stainless locking hubs on the front. Stepside rollbar is not mounted to the bed, but will go with the truck. I'll try to take better pics and post them. Ideal restoration project, or beefy wood hauler. Any questions, ask, and I'll get back to you. Welcome to inspect her in person. I've got a good 304 v8 with a t-18 4 speed attached that could go with her for an extra $350 as well. RELISTED due to scam artist. I'm not interested in payment from royalty-african, european, or otherwise, nor in wire transfer payment in advance for inflated shipping so that I can reimburse your shipper in cash when he shows up. Keep it on the level, or I will pass it along to the proper authorities. $500 deposit within 24 hours via paypal, and balance in a week or upon pickup, whichever comes first. I'd like it picked up within 30 days, unless other arrangements are made with me before purchase. Sold as is where is, with a clear title in my name and good bill of sale. I've still got the previous owners bill of sale and will throw that in as well. On Nov-15-10 at 19:35:27 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention in the description that I had galvanized steel floor pans professionally welded in (both sides) at a body shop a few years back. Very nice job and rock solid. Also has the original floor mat still. Will try to add more pics tomorrow, weather permitting for photos. On Nov-16-10 at 19:47:37 PST, seller added the following information: Added some pics tonight in response to the first question. The worst rust is where the passenger front fender meets the cab. This is a typical area of rust in the C series IH's (or D's for that matter). The driver front looks good. I've also added pics of the cab corners. They're just starting to bubble-no rust through and no putty, just original steel. The tailgate has rust starting in the seams and one small pinhole in the hinge, but is in overall great shape. The heavy gauge steel they still used on these doesn't rust through like the newer cars-the bed is about 3/32" to an 1/8" stamped steel. The last year or two she's started rusting sitting outside, and she's too good a truck to let sit and go. Hopefully someone with fewer projects, more barn space, and time can give her the attention she needs. On Nov-17-10 at 19:59:32 PST, seller added the following information: In response to questions, I added pics of both door pillars and bottom of doors. Also galvanized floor, interior, and underhood. On Nov-20-10 at 18:09:40 PST, seller added the following information: In response to questions, I've added a couple more pics of the interior. Hopefully they show how nice the upholstery on the seat still is. I've also added a pic of the inside of the tailgate, the tailgate hinge, and bed floor. The tailgate is very solid, all the rust showing in the last pic is surface rust-not structural. There are no holes in the bed floor either-rock solid without even the ripples these usually have from hauling heavy loads. One additional item-while looking at it with an interested party it was noted that there are not overload springs on the rear. I remembered wrong on which of my IH's had the springs-again, wanted to make it perfectly clear that there are no overload springs on the rear of this truck-just a standard spring pack. If you're looking for a decent ride, this is probably a plus...
