For Sale is a 1999 Volkswagen Golf TDI. It is a silver 4-door, hatchback. It has 214,000 miles on it, but the engine is strong and has many more miles in it. The car runs well and starts reliably. It does have its quarks that show it's age. Nothing bad; just the little things you know intimately about your own car. There are a couple spots of rust and one dent in the front. There are a few other cosmetic defects, but nothing terrible. I have done regular maintenance on it. It is in need of front brake pads and rotors some time in the future, and the door lock module is starting to fail (meaning sometimes you have to hit it twice to lock), but otherwise it runs smoothly. I have replaced many parts, including: New tires last summer New (used) transmission last winter New suspension all around last summer New battery a year ago New rear brakes two years ago New Wheel bearings this summer New Tie Rods and Axle last winter Timing belt was done at 167,000 miles, so there is 50,000 more left in it. I typically get around 40 miles to the gallon average. The car has great pep. I ran biodiesel for a few years with no issues. The local supply ran out a year ago, so it's been back to the diesel since then. That's why I'm selling the car. With no biodiesel, I'm going to make the shift to a hybrid instead. If interested, I will throw in a Saris roof rack with trays for four bikes free of charge. I would consider delivery if you are with 75 miles of Madison and pay for the vehicle with cash. The reserve on this listing is extremely close to the Buy It Now price because I am hoping someone will utilize that and end this early.
