Vehicle Detail
Okay, the car did not reach the reserve so I will try again by lowering the reserve/buy-it-now prices by fair amouts. This car has been appraised and is insured for $38,000.00. And, that does not include all of the extra parts that are coming with car ($6 - 8k worth). I have been watching ebay for 6 years and I have seen many "clones" and amatuer restorations selling for more than my reserve. I have car advertised locally and a few other places so I reserve the right to end it early if necessary. I may make a 2nd chance offer to the highest bidder even if car does not meet reserve. I NEED to sell the car for medical bills. GOOD LUCK!!! <(*_*)> @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ You will not believe the condition of this all-original survivor and it is the year and model to have-- 1970 w/ the big-block and good options. This "Gentlemens Muscle Car" from the apex of the muscle car era will not dissappoint it's new owner. I am the 3rd owner and I never thought I would sell until kids were in college but medical bills have changed those plans. The car has 98k miles but because of the meticulous maintenance and inside and covered storage that it has enjoyed it looks and drives like it has half that. The car has not been "WET" for 22 years! The car is ready to drive and should provide many yrs of enjoyment to new owner in current condition but if you ever desired to do a ground-up restoration, you already have everything that you will need except paint!! I hope "GOLDIE" can find a good home/owner. You will not see a nicer one at any local type car shows that did not arrive in an inclosed trailer. I have taken her to about 20 car shows in 6 yrs and have recieved a trophy at all except 2 events. Mostly for "Most Original" and several for best "Muscle Car". You will not be dissappointed-- I have a perfect feedback rating for a reason. I bought car after seeing just 6 pics. and I had nightmares the night before delivery fearing the worst but when the truck pulled up and I took my first look, I was amazed at the cars excellent condition and I am sure that 4th owner will feel the same. It is a true 1970 GS 455 that not only has the complete #'s matching drivetrain but also has original EVERYTHING except the wheels which are 15 x 8" on rear & 15 x 7" on front. They are from a 1971 GS455 and they have B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's w/ about 70% tread. I do have the original 14" wheels and they are included with the car. Other originals include keys, paperwork, manual w/ maint. notes, sales brochures, grease-pen marks from assembly line, and even the original "foamies" on air intakes. I also have a notebook filled with receipts for pretty much everything ever done to the car dated from 5/3/1974 to the present. Things like tune-ups, oil changes, trans. filter change, Rbuild starter, thermostat & water pump replace, inspections, tags, etc... Other items in the notebook are various Buick Ads and brochures, Tech sheets, 1970 Buick color options list, 1970 Buick accessories order form, Several Mag. Articles, and info on all 3 previous owners. All of the items are in protective sleeves and in chronlogical order. Factory options include Power Disc Brakes, Power Steering, A/C, Cruise Control, Tilt Wheel, Sonomatic AM/FM Radio, HD Ralleye Suspension Pkg, Convenience Pkg (Includes mirror, dome, trunk, glove-box, and ash-tray lights), Custom Side Molding, Door-ding Guards, Carpet Savers, Handy Mats, and Soft-Ray Tinted Windows. They are all still on the car and working fine except the A/C which is complete w/ belt mounted but does not blow cold. The exterior is a solid "5-footer" with the original rare #58 coded "Harvest Gold Poly" paint still shining nicely with only a few nicks & scratches here and there. The original black vinyl top is simply amazing with no rips, tears, bubbling, etc.. The glass is all perfect except right rear passenger window having one minor scratch on it but I am including a perfect replacement. All of the chrome/stainless trim is in excellent condition without any dents, scratches, or discolorations. The only exception are the badges/emblems with red paint which has faded to a "dull" red. I do have new OEM replacements for all of them. The bumpers are also in excellent condition and have never seen any damage. The front grill has 2 small cracks and 1 small pc. missing. This grill is better than any you will see at a local car show but I have a new OEM replacement that would make it perfect. All body panels, doors, trunk, hood, windows, weatherstripping, etc... are original and align, function, close, and seal properly with ease. The interior is just as impressive as the exterior. The original carpet, door panels, floormats, steering wheel, package tray, etc... are all original and in excellent condition. The dash is flawless with no cracks, bends, discolorations, etc... The "wood-grain" decals are faded but I am including a new set of replacements. The original SONOMATIC AM/FM radio has remained in the car since 1970 and still works fine. The second owner did replace the 4 x 6" speaker in the rear with more modern 6 x 9" but he did no damage to package tray and he saved the original speaker which is included with sale. I have a black steering wheel cover on the wheel for more cushion but the wheel has no cracks and is in perfect condition. The car starts, runs, and drives great with all original matching #'s. In September of 2006, I had the drivetrain removed from the radiator to the rear-end. They removed, dissassembeld, cleaned, reworked, and painted everything. They did replace a few parts but they used all OEM/standard/equivalent equipment as needed. I did not let them make any performance modifications because I wanted it to stay all original. They did paint the original valve covers black and I didn't make them repaint orig. red. I do have a set of new re-pro Stage 1 chrome valve covers from Year One that come with sale. "It is only original once" and the 2nd owner felt the same way. He shared my passion for keeping EVERYTHING original but he wanted the car to "stand" a little higher so he replaced the original 14" wheels with an excellent set of 15" wheels from a 1971 GS455 and new coil springs/shocks all the way around but he kept the originals and they are included. And, as I said earlier he changed the rear speaker as well, That's It!!!. The only item I changed was adding front liscense plate mount (for Texas) and I added a "BUICK" logo Wing-nut for breather cover and I marked and saved original with extra parts. We both had the obsession with perfection so he started the huge parts collection that has been amassed. We have spent 16 years watching auctions, car shows/sales, swap meets, etc... to find perfection. In general, if there is an item on this car that has a blemish, scratch, scuff, flecked chrome, fading, etc... We have a new or perfect replacement. Keep in mind, all items on the car are better than anything you will see at local car shows where you will win "Most Original" repeatedly. I have several trophies to prove it!!! We knew that someone may want to do a total restoration someday so we collected every part that someone would need for a ground-up restoration. The parts cover the entire car from front to back; from the largest like the grill down to smaller like the gas cap that has discoloration of the galvanizing, we found a new one in box. The tilt-wheel lever has flecking chrome; we found a new one. Door sill plates have some very minor scuffs; I found new OEM replacements. Dome light covers have "yellowed" some so i found new ones. Etc... I estimate that I have about $6-8K worth of parts and they are all included in sale. I will deduct $3000 from sales price if buyer does not want the parts but you will be getting your monies worth! Plus, you wont have to do any of the "legwork" to find rare parts. On top of that, you can resell original items from car because they are in better condition than 95% of other people doing a restoration. The new OEM Grill in original box is worth at least 2/3 of that. I have seen 2 sell over the past 6 years and they both exceeded $2300 and the used one from my car would fetch several hundred. I will include a list of the parts at the end of description. I have covered all of the "good" but there are a few "bads" and I will describe and picture them as well. The drivers seat has a few small rips on seating area. A local shop says that he can put an underside patch on them for under $200. The only real dent in the whole body is located on the back of trunk right next to trunk "keyhole". It looks like something fell on it. It is about 1" wide x 2" long. The only evidence of rust on the car is behind the front wheels on lower quarters. In this case, they were repaired in 1988 by first owner when he "retired" the car to storage and Sunday drives. The car has not been "WET" since then. It looks like they cleaned up rusted area with abrasives and used Bondo type material to smooth back out and re-painted. The paint still looks good but the bondo material is starting to "seperate" a little from the metal but it still shows well. I am including left & right OEM fenders for a more "modern" repair if desired. The A/C system is complete, including a belt. It turns freely but does not blow cold air. It should probably be updated to the R134. I have taken pictures of all of these issues and they are the last few pictures in line-up. I have added a link to see many more pics. of the car since ebay only allows 24 in add. Link to more pictures: http://s909.photobucket.com/albums/ac298/breezzii/Buick%20GS%20Pics/?start=all I have broken parts up into 3 lists and I am sure that I will leave a few out. I will clean my garage, closet, and office before sell and I am sure that the lists will grow as I find more items and include them as well. And don't forget that you can resell any of the original parts from car that you take off--they are all in VERY useable condition. The 1st list is the new items--Most are OEM but some are YearOne or other Aftermarket Maker (a few of them are rebuilt OEM as noted by "Rblt.")-----OEM Complete Grill, Tail-light bezels/sockets/covers, Door Sill Plates, All new exterior Badges and underhood stickers for air cleaner, Trunk Liner & Spare-Tire Cover, Rblt OEM Clock, Dome Light Lenses, All new Rubber Weather stripping for windows-trunk-doors, GSX type Chin Spoiler, Underside of Hood Insulation Kit, Rblt Correct Black "BUICK" Plate for rear bumper, Wood-Grain Dash Decal Set, Complete sets of both interior/exterior Stainless Replacement Screw Kits, Radiator Overflow Bottle & Wiper Res. Bottle, Chrome Stage I-type Valve Covers, Rblt. Powder-Coated Hood Hinges/Springs w/ mounting hardware & Screws, "BUICK" Vanity Mirror for Visor, Chrome Door Ding Guards, Year & model correct Rblt Carb (NAPA), "Foamies" for Intakes, Misc. A/C parts-Heater Core-Evap. Core-Condenser- Dryer-etc..., and 1 box of misc.-- Points Sets, Wiper Switch, Headlight Switch, Oil & Temp. Sending Units, etc... The 2nd list will be the used OEM items that are in Excellent-Perfect Condition------Color-matched Ash-Tray, Complete Right Rear Window w/ all hardware, Pair of Color-matched Sun-Visors w/ mounting hardware, Color-matched Rearview Mirror w/ mounting hardware, Complete Hood Hold-Down Plate Assembly w/ hardware, Original 14" Wheels that came off this car, Original Speaker from this car, 1 Misc. box of Interior Pcs.-Knobs-Screws-Levers-switches-etc... 1 box of Misc. Exterior Pcs.---Lense covers-Spacers-Light Sockets-Grommets-Screws-etc... The 3rd list consists of extra parts that are all OEM. The car does not NEED any of these but you may need some in the future:----Timing Cover/Waterpump Assembly & Parts, Model & Year Correct Carb., Both left & right front fenders, 2 more boxes of misc. smaller items like switches, screws, knobs, lights, etc.... I think that I have covered everything except the terms of sale. I have clear Texas Title in hand and car will not leave my garage until paid in full. Sale should be completed in 10 days. I can help w/ shipping/loading of car if needed. Don't forget to let the shipper know that there are extras coming with car--He may need a little more $. Most of the parts are in clean boxes and I will carefully pack those w/ shipping blankets inside car and trunk but the 2 fenders & the orig. wheels will definately need extra space. I live in Weatherford, Tx which is about 45 miles west of Dallas/Fort Worth and you are welcome to come see the car. My name is Tim and you can reach me at (817)915-1869 for any questions or you can go thru ebay's message center & I will answer. Please no game players--I am serious about selling this car and need serious buyer. If you have less than 10 positives please contact me before bidding. Thank You for looking at my car and I hope "Goldie" goes to a good home!!!
