Vehicle Detail
1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler This is a very rare car, one of only 1,631 ever built! The car came from the factory with the 429CJ (370HP) engine. I was told it was the numbers matching motor, but after removing the starter and checking the numbers I found it is not the original motor it's a 429 (360HP) engine code C9VE-E. The heads are the original D0OE-R 429CJ heads. I just traded for the car with a very nice 69 Roadrunner and I'm offering the car for sale. The car has PS,PDB, Factory 140MPH speedometer. Tach dash with gauges, 4 speed transmission. 9" posi rear with 3:50 trac loc. The car came from the factory with a C-6 automatic and was changed to a 4 speed before I got the car. It has a nice set of Magnum 500 wheels with nice tires, Dual Flowmaster exhaust system. The body is very nice and straight and the paint shows very nice. I would rate it a very nice driver quality paint job well above the average driver. The interior is very nice but not perfect. There is a crack in the dash near the tach and the rear side sail panel is loose. The seats, carpet, door panels look nice. The gauges all work except the speedometer. The headlight doors work great. The car runs and drives nice but there is some chatter in the clutch but nothing that would stop you from driving the car and it does not slip. I could not find any rust on the body or floors of the car, it looks really good. I did notice that there was a patch put in the lower right rear quarter that you can see from inside the trunk where the seam is. I will say it's a nice job and the body line looks good. The doors and trunk rubber seals look new but the door roof rail rubbers look original but still seal well. The doors both open and shut very nice and tight. The glass all looks good. Also the steering wheel looks original and also different from most other Cyclones I've seen I like this one much better. I believe the car originally had a console because there is a mounting bracket under the dash where the console would mount. The car was originally Comepition Gold. The Color is a now a nice Orange, I guess someone liked it better! I guess that's about all I can think of if you have any questions please feel free to call me at 813-478-3449. The car is sold AS-IS with NO WARRANTY buyer pays for shipping. The car has a clean OH title. Winning buyer must pay a non-refundable deposit of $1000 within 24hrs and full payment in 7 days from the end of the auction.
