Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1954 f100 pickup truck. I bought the truck as a project, and have become unable to finish it. All of the hardwork is done, it just needs to be finished. The truck is titled as a 54, but I put the 55 grille on it. I also bought a 53 parts truck which comes with it, and I started to turn it into a rat rod. That cab is restorable. I took a picture of most of the extra parts for the trucks, and I have more put up that are included. The truck is in very good shape, and there is nothing hidden like bondo or rigging. The frame was sandblasted and painted. The frame has not but cut or notched. I lowered the truck by putting the front axle inside the leafs, and flipping the rear shackles. The cab: has been sandblasted and repaired. I welded in new cab corners, cowl panels, floor pieces, and rocker panels with minimal body work. The firewall has been shaved. The bodywork on the cab is done, and has been primered insided and out. The hood, front fenders, grille, radiator support, air deflectors, and seat frame have been sandblasted and primered. The doors on the truck need patch panels welded in. I took a picture of the rust spots. The doors on the parts truck appear to be in better shape, but they haven't been sandblasted and I don't know what's underneath. This was on the to-do list but never got done. On the driver's side headlight bucket of the grille, there are several rust holes. I welded most, but sandblasting blew a few more. Nothing significant, but I wanted you to know they are there. The front end is solid metal and is ready for body work. I was planning on tilting the front end. The bed: has not been sandblasted. The bedsides pictured on the truck are the worst of the sets I have. My first plans for the truck were to get the rest of the truck besides the bed solid, and then do a faux patina paint job and leave the bedsides rough. The truck turned out to be too nice to do a patina, and I started reconsidering. The two extra sets of bedsides included are in far better shape than the ones on the truck. I did however put oak wood in the bed and made new bedmounts. One of the rear fenders has been sandblasted, and you can see that patch panels need to be welded in. I have another driver's side rear fender that is in better shape, but it has the notch for the spare tire, which I didn't want. The passenger rear fender needs a little attention too, but is solid. I have a 351w for the truck that needs rebuilt. I also have a c4 transmission that came out of a running car. I took a picture of these and a slam shifter that is also included. I have the original driveshaft, and was planning on reusing the stock 3.92 rear end. It needs running boards, 55 valence, windshield and door glass (have good vent and rear glass), and some finishing touches. There are enough parts to probably finish two trucks. This is definitely a project that can turn out to be a show quality truck.
