Vehicle Detail
1973 914S 2.0 Liter PORSCHE I bought this car in 1988 in Southern California.Comes with a very complete set of Maintenance records AND the Owners Manual Presentation Binder from original buyer(I am the third owner)Car was purchased in July 1973 by a Coast Guard person in Oregon.Car was kept in Oregon and Washington before buyer moved to Alameda,California.Car was originally red.The second buyer had car painted with "Imron" paint with a lot of attention to getting it perfect. He also bought 4 1973 911 FUCHS original 6J wheels (I found matching spare). These wheels are Extremely RARE and only came on two years of a very collectible 911.The 5 wheels alone are worth close to $3000.The car has excellent interior with perfect door panels , rare original visors, new carpets , Perfect center console with NO TEARS (I found this NEW at a SoCal Porsche yard in 1990's).Excellent Targa top with working latches.Has original trunk carpets , front and rear , original jack. Working door latches with new door mechanism in drivers door .I had the motor rebuilt in October 1993 by One Stop Machining in Downey , California.I had Stainless Steel Valves installed in the rebuilt heads along with German Mahle pistons and Sachs Clutch. Rebuilt Injectors , new boots and seals and all hoses.New Camshafts , Pressure sensor , new fuel pump , ALL Stainless Steel heater boxes and headers and new exhaust.New Pirelli P6 205/60/15 tires also. The list goes on and on and I will pass on a huge file of receipts documenting everything replaced on this car. This car has been in storage for close to 15 years. It has been driven every 3-4 months to keep it charged up.I also had a V8 914 I drove most of the time so I didn't have much time for this car.The car had 83245 miles at rebuild and has had 2 services from the builder at 500 and 3500 miles , which included valve adjustments. The car has about 4000 miles since this rebuild over 17years , but still starts and runs very well. Since I pulled it out of storage I noticed that the cold start valve is staying on , making it run rich when warmed up. A handy person could probably clean it or a replacement valve on EBAY is about $120.00. The body is very straight ,with a couple of small rust spots as normal for a 37 year new car. Brakes work better than any 914 because I installed a 911 master cylinder.Car is Smog exempt of course but I had it checked once and it passed easily. All parts used on this car are ORIGINAL except the exhaust and Antenna. I am willing to deliver within 50 miles if vehicle needs to be shipped. Please email me with any additional Questions. On Nov-04-10 at 23:52:40 PDT, seller added the following information: After doing a little research it turns out car was NEVER red......That was a typo. Car has allways been ORANGE.
