For sale is my 1976 BMW 2002. It was purchased new in California by my mother-in-law and spent its entire life in California. It has never been in a collision. It was driven daily until 1990 at which time it was restored: paint, interior, engine rebuild, etc. I took ownership in 1991. It is 99% rust free, (tiny bubble on lower passenger door). The color is original Golf Yellow. The interior was originally black and is mildly custom with dark gray leather on the original seats and a combination of leather and black vinyl on the panels and headliner. The console is custom made with an AM-FM CD Player connected to 4 speakers. The dash has only a couple of small cracks from age. The car was converted to a 4speed manual transmission from the original automatic with parts from a donor car of the same year. The radiator is new and correct for a manual transmission. All of the window seals and door weatherstrip were replaced with factory BMW stock at the time of restoration yet are still soft and pliable. The engine has a 2bbl Weber carburetor, a Thunderbird Header and Ansa Exhaust. It has Suspension Techniques Sport Springs and KYB Shocks giving it a slightly lower than stock stance. The battery is about a year old and the tires have 80% tread on them. The car runs, shifts, drives and stops nicely, however there is a howl from the trans in 1st and reverse. All of the lights, signals, etc. work properly except for the heater fan and the radio, (needs a new antenna). The car has logged only about 10,000 miles since I've had it and has always been garaged and started regularly. This car will not pass smog in CA, however I do have the original exhaust manifold, air filter and smog pump. I cannot say for sure if the mileage is actual.There are a few scratches in the paint and a couple of dings in the trim but overall the car is very presentable, fun to drive and attracts attention wherever it goes.
