Up for your consideration today we have a beautiful 1962 Ford Fairlane 500. My grandfather purchased this car 3 years ago from a man that made it his goal in life to completely restore this all-original beauty. The gentleman that this car was purchased from sold my grandfather the car only because he was desperately in need of money for medical bill debt. My grandfather then took on the responsibility of restoring this vehicle. He spent countless hours making this vehicle perfect. He brought the Fairlane to carshows as often as he was able. He was diagnosed with cancer less than 3 months ago and was gone 6 weeks later. My grandmother has no use for this beautiful car and it would be a shame for it to sit in the garage any longer. A little bit about this beauty: First we can start with the exterior of the car. The outside was recently repainted and is in nearly perfect condition. It has a few minor chips in the door jams and on the edge of the drivers door. All of the chrome for the outside of the car has just been replaced with brand new chrome. All of the seals and windlace on the car are new. All of the glass on the car is in excellent condition--no chips or cracks. The emblems and the roof pillar chrome pieces have been replaced and have hardly any blemishes on them. The front bumper was replaced within the last year and is brand new. It looks just beautiful. Next, we have the Engine. It is the original 221 V-8 and has 17,480 put on it since it was rebuilt at 100,000 miles 6 years ago. We replaced the air breather with a chromed one. Also this car has power breaks, power steering, automatic 2 speed with a 221 punched 30 over. The heads completely work, new bronze valve guides, new springs, keepers, and valves. New clevite cam and timing chain set, Mellling high volume oil pump, clevite 77 racing tod and main bearings, crankshaft has been turned 10 thousandths, New exhaust system, rebuilt distributor, New starter solinoid, new cap, rotor, spark clugs, and wires. It has a rebuilt transmission, totally rebuilt generator, brand new starter, rebuilt brake booster, new brakes all the way around, new shocks all the way around, front tires are new, back tires are 3 years old, new wiring harness, new fuel tank regulator and furl line, new power steering lines, new bendix control valve, new water pump, new rear suspension springs and a front end alignment was done within the first 4 months of this year. Now on to the interior. The seats were recovered about 5 years ago. New carpet, new door seals, new door panels, new headliner, new windshield deals, new glovebox liner, new backglass seal, new trunk seal, new trunk carpet, new tail light lenses, new chrome air breather, it also has factory seatbelts in the back seat. This beauty has a custom built box under the dash that holds the cd player and it has an ORIGINAL WORKING AM RADIO!!! This car has a BRAND NEW $1500.00 Air Conditioning unit that was recently installed. It is a DOT.3 model and works great! This car is completely SMOKE-FREE and has always been garage kept.
