Vehicle Detail

1963 Ford Thunderbird I am very proud to offer my Mild Custom Low Mileage 1963 Ford Thunderbird. This car draws a crowd where ever it is parked... the ladies love it too! I took most of these pictures yesterday after a 200 mile fall poker run. This has probably been the most reliable, best driving old car I have ever owned. I have driven this car to several out of state car shows (HAMB Drags, Rust Revival, Hunnert Car Pile-Up, etc...) with out a single hiccup. It truly is a pleasure to drive. BODY: The car started as a very nice SOLID original survivor that was treated to one of the most amazing, but tasteful, paint jobs I have ever seen. All premium House of Kolors paints were used. The Watson styled paint job has a gold base, with red panels, scallops with skulls ghosted in, then coated in candy Tangerine. The hood and trunk area are painted slick as glass black, with more scallops and detailed skulls. It is very hard to photograph all the details... it is truly a paint job that must be seen to be appreciated. Chrome and stainless is all original and in nice condition. Rear bumper has some rust on the rear bottom corner. INTERIOR: The black interior is all stock and original. It is in amazing shape for being almost 50 years old. There is some wear on the driver seat bottom, arm rest and the carpet could use replacing... but the rest of it is in very nice condition. The dash pad is very nice. All gauges and lights work. Power windows. The odometer on the car is just over 40k miles. I cannot certify that this mileage is correct, but judging by the condition of everything it may be accurate. DRIVETRAIN: The motor is a stock 390 that runs excellent. Very smooth and powerful. Shifts great. Engine bay is painted and clean. Chromed original "Thunderbird" valve covers and overflow tank. Air cleaner painted to match w/ lace fogged in. Edelbrock 600 cfm elec. choke 4brl carb. Power steering and brakes. The car sits very low, but rarely has any clearance problems. I am frequently asked if the car is air bagged. The car runs down the road at 70 mph straight and true. The wheels are RARE original 1960's Fenton 5 spokes with knock offs that are in excellent shape. Tires are bias ply Sears Allstate wide whites that were NOS when the car was built. People are constantly asking about these wheels and tires... they make the car! I really don't want to sell this car, but it is time for something different and time to let someone else enjoy this one. This car needs nothing. Fly in and drive it home anywhere. I would have no qualms about driving this car across the country. I would rather sell the car but I will consider pre 1965 trades. If you have something to offer please be of the same quality of car as mine or be willing to add $ to the deal (please no campers, boats, mustangs etc...) Please email me pictures, description, and location of the possible trade. Auction ends Monday November 1st at 5:30 pm Central Time. Be sure to add this your watch list! There are several large pictures below. Please allow time for them all to load. Terms of the Sale: I have owned several hot rods and classic cars and feel this description is accurate and correctly describes the car. HOWEVER... I am not an expert and will never claim to be. This is a 47 year old car and opinions and expectations can vary. I strongly encourage all seriously interested parties to inspect this car in person or have a 3rd party perform an inspection before the end of the auction. I am very easy to work with and take pleasure in working with these old cars. I ask that you do the same and take this auction seriously and I will not waste your time if you do not waste mine. If you are an international bidder or a bidder with less than 10 feedback please email me with your contact information to avoid the risk of a bid being canceled. All I ask for is a clear channel of communication. I welcome any questions via email: danbenck@hotmail.com or phone calls at 314-456-6540. To be fair to all bidders I will not disclose the reserve. If you cannot wait until the end of the auction I will entertain all genuine offers. Please only bid on this vehicle if you plan on purchasing it, and have secured the funds to do so. Please make all arrangements with your bank, wife, loan shark, etc... BEFORE placing a bid. I will not tolerate non - paying bidders. This vehicle was listed locally and the auction may end at any time if sold during the course of the auction. There is a $1000 deposit due 48hrs after the close of the auction. The preferred deposit method is via Pay Pal. The remainder of the payment should be paid with cash unless prior arrangements have been made. Vehicle will not leave my possession until all checks are cleared and money is in hand. Shipping the car is the buyers responsibility. I will assist the buyer with shipping this vehicle. I have shipped cars overseas and have no issues dealing with international bidders. All shipping expenses will be paid for by the buyer. On Oct-29-10 at 11:15:44 PDT, seller added the following information:***Notice*** I had a potential bidder come and inspect the car yesterday. He was very happy with the condition of the car, but pointed out a few things that I do not have listed in the description: The right rear tire looks to of made contact with the fender skirt at some point and has rubbed the white wall. I have driven the car with it like this for several thousand miles and there have been no issues. Also there is a small leak on what appears to be the power steering hose. I will try to get it on the lift and fix this before the end of the auction. I just want the buyer of this car to be 100% happy with it. If you have any questions, please give me a call at 314-456-6540 Thanks, Dan
