You are bidding on a 1979 Datsun 280zx. We bought this car this summer to be a Father/Son restoration project (Which I do professionally). Time does not allow for this project after all. The car is in very good shape for your average “Back yard find”. It has a clear Kansas off-highway title (no liens, and no back taxes for not having a tag). We have installed a new battery, removed-cleaned-reinstalled the fuel tank, and changed the oil. The engine turns over and seems to have good compression, but hasn’t started. The ignition seems to be fine, and there is good fire at the plug. The fuel system checks out and everything functions, but there are some relays and sensors that I am not familiar with since I don’t normally work on Datsuns. But I have identified one or two that are bad with a multi meter. There is rust in the rocker panels, and lower fenders, but not in the floor or trunk area. I also didn’t find much rust under the vehicle in the structural areas. I’ve tried to describe the car as best I can from the time I have spent on it, and I hope the pictures will provide a good representation of its condition.
