Vehicle Detail

Congratulations! You are bidding on one of the quickest and most rewarding wagons on the road today. As you can see, this is a 2001 Audi S4 Avant in Santorin blue. It is a 2 owner vehicle with a very thoroughly documented repair history. Prior owner purchased new at Audi of Rockville and had an extended service plan resulting in all service being completed at the dealership. I will provide the Carfax report printed when I bought the car. It shows a line for line detail of every service completed. I also have complete original owner's manual and factory matched touch-up paint. Since owning the vehicle, I have continued the impeccable focus on routine maintenance. I can supply receipts for all major services completed. This includes the very important Timing Belt service which was completed at 94,000 miles. At that time, the technician completed an inspection and only noted the need for a CV boot, which was completed. This is a very fast, very well cared for Avant. Most recent work completed includes new tires.(see pic) It has been a very reliable car for me over the last 35k miles. After viewing the pictures, you can see the exterior looks quite good for a car nearly 10 years old. The front bumper shows the type of road rash you would expect from a vehicle designed for and driven in the snow. There are 2 small dings, one on each door, that may be removed via PDR. Otherwise, the paint looks great, shines well and really stands out. It has been enhanced as noted below:Performance Exhaust (great sound, stainless steel, not sure on make)APR ECMS installed at 70,000 miles (4 programs from 91-100 octane)APR Bi-pipe installed at 94,000 milesForge Diverter valves at 94,000 miles (OEM upgrade with custom springs)Autohaus Turbo Hoses at 94,000 milesK&N Intake at 99,000 milesCarbon Fiber Engine CoversDirect Wired Audio Hard-Drive (AUX input for iPod or Flash Drive for MP3) I have attached a few reviews of the vehicle below that you my find helpful when considering your purchase. Please contact me with any questions. Thank you, and good luck bidding! Motorweek (2001) There are lots of advantages to being in America. But one of the disadvantages is that European car makers tend to keep many of their most intriguing high performance models at home. Now, BMW is quite generous with their superb M-series, eventually anyway. And Mercedes-Benz is offering us more AMGs. But until recently, Audi has been conservative about doling out its most exciting machines to U.S. buyers. That did change last year with the thrilling S4 sedan. Like its sedan sibling, the S4 Avant is a big step forward over the standard A4. Under the hood is a 2.7-liter, dual-overhead-cam, 30-valve, twin-turbo V6. It pumps out 250 horsepower, and 258 pound-feet of torque. That engine is mated to a positive, but slightly-rubbery-feeling, 6-speed manual transmission like our test car's, or a 5-speed Tiptronic automatic, and pumps all that torque to the road by way of Audi's bullet-proof Quattro all-wheel-drive system and a set of 17-inch alloy wheels, wearing 225 tires. At our test track, the S4 Avant sprinted to 60 in only 5.9-seconds, and through the 1/4- mile in 14.5-seconds at 97 miles-per-hour. Power delivery is strong off the line, but then really hits in the midrange, and stays solid all the way to the redline. Now that's what we call a sport wagon. To match this acceleration, the S4 Avant also gets a 20-millimeter lower suspension, with firmer shocks and springs, plus thicker stabilizer bars. Which allow it to cut through the cones like the best sports cars. Our drivers used words like quick, nimble, tossable, and all the other adjectives that we use to describe cars that are a real joy to drive fast. And it even looks good, though in an understated way. In addition to the wheels and lowered suspension, only a few subtle styling cues, like the larger front air intakes and the "S" badges front and rear, indicate that this is anything other than a handsome little family hauler. Though the $41,050 base price certainly lets you know it! Fully optioned, the S4 Avant will set you back $46,075. B5 power train The power train detail of the B5 S4 features a 2.7 liter bi-turbo 90° third-generation V6 engine. Detail of the power plant includes a cast iron cylinder block with two lightweight aluminum alloy cylinder heads. The valve train includes 30 valves per cylinder, twin hybrid-driven (timing belt and roller chain), double overhead camshafts and variable valve timing for the inlet valves. The charged intake air is cooled with the aid of two side-mounted intercoolers. It displaces 2,671cc and is rated to produce 250hp at 5,800rpm and generates 258–295 lb-ft of torque at 1,850 rpm. Engine management was by way of a Bosch Motronic 7.0 electronic engine control unit (ECU). As in the previous S4, a six-speed C90 manual transmission with the following gear ratios: 1st: 3.500, 2nd: 1.889, 3rd: 1.231, 4th: 0.967, 5th: 0.806, 6th: 0.684) was standard equipment, as was the Torsen T-2 quattro permanent four-wheel drive system. The B5 S4 claims acceleration from 0 to 62mph in 5.6 seconds, and had an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph making it both the quickest saloon/sedan in the Audi model line, and among the quickest saloon/sedans in the world at that time. B5 brakes & wheels The B5 S4 brake system consisted of radially ventilated discs, 321mm in diameter by 30mm thick up front, and 256mm by 22mm at the rear. Two-piston Lucas HP2 brake calipers at the front with four pads per caliper, with Lucas single-piston sliding brake calipers at the rear. A Bosch ABS 5.3 four-channel Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake force Distribution and Electronic Differential Lock along with ESP or Electronic Stability Program. Standard wheels were Audi's die-cast aluminum six-arm 'Avus' 7.5Jx17H2 ET45 alloy wheels, shod with 225/45 ZR17 performance tires.
