Vehicle Detail

THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD AS A PARTS CAR- NO TITLE- BILL OF SALE ONLY!!!! NO RESERVE. Here is a rust free beautiful car from Colorado. Colorado is very dry so we don't have to worry about salt on the road or humidity causing rust. Here are the facts about this car. 1. The car (owned by an elderly lady) was in a wreck, early 2009, was totaled by her insurance company Progressive Insurance. Why it was totaled has me completely baffled, although I do have a couple of guesses. Take a look at the picture and see for yourself that the damage was not that severe. Even with the damage, the car drove like a dream, no shakes, rattles or rolls. 2. Progressive Insurance obtained the title from the owner, stamped the title as JUNKED, and as required by Colorado Revised Statutes 42-6-136 sent the title to the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The DMV cancelled the title. 3. The car was sold at a Klode Insurance Auction as a "Parts Only" car to a gentleman that was going to get a title for it. He got tired of the Colorado State bureaucracy, had a family emergency in California and sold it to me. 4. I bought the car thinking I could get a "Salvage Title", I followed the procedures outlined by the State, El Paso County issued me a registration and license plates only to have the State rescind the registration due to the fact that the title had been cancelled and that car was over 6 years old at the time of the accident. Colorado Revised Statutes 42-6-102(17)(c). 5. I fought with the Colorado DMV for almost a year. I lost the informal decision, appealed the decision and had a formal hearing. I lost that appeal. I then appealed to the Executive Director and she upheld the formal hearing decision. I asked Senator Keith King for assistance, he couldn't believe it so he checked into it and the DMV will not act unless the Revised Statutes are changed. I just heard back from Senator King and he will see if there is enough support when the Legislature reassembles for the next session. With the mess the State of Colorado is in (as all states) I just refuse to get my hopes up. 6. In the time period between the registration event and the DMV rescinding the title, I got the car completely repaired. The only item that had to be replaced was the fender. I found an OEM fender, same color with no damage at a salvage yard in Arizona. The door and hood had minor damage that was easily repaired. I also had a new windshield installed. 7. I have family in Washington State, so I thought if I could get the car titled up there I would send it up there. On two seperate occasions (while I was appealing the decisions here in Colorado), I checked with the Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL), and both times they examined all my documents and said they would title it after it was inspected by the Washington State Patrol. In July I sent the car up to Olympia (It is still there). I flew up there and devoted an entire week to get it titled. The inspection took place on August 31,2010. The Washington State Patrol looked at the title stamped JUNKED (This document was one of the documents I had previously sent to the DOL) and stopped the inspection right there. You would think that the DOL and the State Patrol would communicate with each other and have a collaborative relationship. WRONG. They referred me back to the DOL and the DOL took 5 weeks to tell me that they will not issue me a title. I was told that Colorado doesn't want this car back on the road because it was wrecked. I said look at the pictures, it never should have been totaled in the first place and that is the whole reason why you have a salvage title process. She didn't get it. A vehicle was damaged and now it is repaired, how tough is that to figure out. Unfortunately, Washington State does not have an appeal process, the supervisor of the DOL has the final say and I don't think she had the courage to stand up and say this isn't right and she took the easy way out. I offered to have it inspected by any agency or shop of her choosing but she refused that as well. 7. I have been fighting the beauracracy in Colorado and Washington for over a year and it is time to stop. It just kills me to sell this car, I have put so much time, effort, and frustration in to it. Plus I REALLY like this car. If it wasn't such a great car, I wouldn't have fought as hard as I have to get it title. Plus if you only knew how much I have invested money wise into this car and how much of a beating I will be taking on it, you would probably hate to sell it as well. About the car, check out the pictures, I posted the picture of the damage, as well as the repair. I am hiding NOTHING. This is a beautiful car that was owned by an elderly lady. Pearl White with an immaculate white leather interior. I had the alignment checked and the damage from the accident was so minor that the alignment shop just had to do a little adjustment and it is now back to factory specs. I also had a new windshield installed. You can see in the picture that the strut tower was pushed in. The body man pulled it out and reinforced it. It is probably stronger now than when it came off the assembly line. Only 52,000 original miles. Interior is immaculate. No wear visible on the cream leather seats. Fantastic condition. (That is why I bought it in the first place, it was going to be my wife's car). Do not believe the report that eBay uses. The titled was cancelled in the State of Colorado. If you want more pictures, send me your email address and I will be glad to send you what I have. If you want to discuss the car, send me an email or use the "Contact the Seller" feature and send me your name and number and I will call you. If you can get a title, you will be getting a car that cost over $30,000 new for a fraction of that price. Your state may title the car, although I make no guarantees that they will. That is why I am selling it as a parts car. If you think that your state may title it, do your home work first. Document EVERYTHING. The buyer is responsible for all shipping charges from Olympia Washington. I will give you the name of the company that I used to ship it up to Washington. Great service, covered trailer (prevents rock and other possible road damage) and by using them, you save money, eliminating the fee the shipping broker charges. I make no guarantees about this company. They did a great job for me but check them out if you decide to use them or any other company. There are some great websites that you can find out about car transport companies.
