Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 2 door hardtop. This was owned by an elderly gentleman who only drove it a few times a year. That is the reason for the low miles. I cannot prove the miles are correct but by knowing the car a lot of years im sure they are correct. The engine is a 390 and its an automatic trans. It runs great, the engine fires right up with no noise at all. The 390 engines are getting hard to find, especially one that is ready to run. The brakes are weak but do stop. The interior is pretty nice, it was redone several years ago, but it does need cleaning. The headliner is great. The dash has only a small crack in the speaker grille area. It has an aftermarket 8 track tape player in it and YES it does come ith the car!! The body on this car is very solid with NO rust holes in it at all. The front bumper and drivers side fender have some damage from where he run up on something. The rear bumper is pretty nice as are the tail lights and rear trim. There is a set of hubcaps in the trunk for it. Remember, the body is VERY VERY solid on this car!! The drivers side of the frame has some rust in the area where the front fender bolts on at the very bottom. Also some frame rust in front of the drivers side rear tire. I think the passenger side is good. The old guy was driving it as it is so must not be a big problem. Its not rusted completely in to but ill need some attention. The car was licensed and inspected up until about a year or so ago. Email me with any questions you may have. Remember, this is a 68, not an 08 so dont expect a perfect car but it is very solid. Restore it or part it out, either way it is a decent classic car to own. I require a $250.00 non refundable deposit at auctions end and the balance in full within 3 days. The car can sit here ahile as long as its paid for according to the auction terms. Thanks for looking and good luck should you decide to bid on this ol solid classic Galaxie!!! Remember to checkout my other auctions as I have listed a 1973 Ford truck that belonged to this same gentleman!
