Vehicle Detail
Genuine 1960 Porsche 356b Super 90 Coupe with California black license plates and matching-numbers engine (VIN: 114463; Engine: P*801917). Solid original floors and perfect body gaps, a great driver or excellent candidate for top-end restoration. A rare and valuable 356 model. Doors, hood and decklid shut with uniform factory fit. The San Francisco Bay Area has the most solid, rust-free early Porsches in the world, and this car is an example of that. Zero rust in the original floors and longitudinals. No rusted out and repaired car can ever match the value of this one, with all it's original metal and factory welds intact. The original Super 90 engine was recently tuned by our technician and it runs well. Drives straight with a solid feel, and the acceleration is two solid steps above a "normal" engine, underscoring the desirabilty of the true Super 90. This car deserves a concours restoration at some point; but it's beautiful exterior patina, clean original interior, and excellent running condition offer the option of a nice (and rare) driver. The car has been in storage for a number of years. We have many of the service issues handled, and I will append a report from my technician explaining which repairs and tune-up adjustments he recently performed. He has it running well, but the brakes still need attention. That said, I truly enjoyed its solid feel on the road and its excellent acceleration. Please remember, I almost never list anything twice, so in a few days this car will be gone. Please email any questions and see 131 (downloadable) pictures at the following link: http://picasaweb.google.com/dustycars/1960Porsche356bSuper90# On Oct-23-10 at 08:09:11 PDT, seller added the following information: I am surprised by the thus-far weak bidding on this car. A real super 90 car with perfect gaps, black plates, and bone-solid original floors is not easy to find. The original color of this car is silver, and painting it is straight-forward: No rust or body damage needs to be addressed. I may relist this car once more, but upon the end of this auction I may pull it from the market entirely, order the COA and repaint it according to its numbers-matching silver. Anyone who watches my auctions knows I rarely list things twice. Most of my cars sell well before the end of the first auction, such as the following cars of the past month: 1960 190sl, the 1970 911e, the 1958 356a, 1969 912, and the 1973.5 911t. I often receive emails asking "what happened to the car? Is it still for sale? Please contact me...." These cars are of very limited supply, and once they are gone, they're gone.
