Vehicle Detail
This is an extraordinary 1974 Toyota Celica GT Coupe -- it is the nicest one I have ever found. The odometer reads 95,395 miles and to the best of my knowledge it is correct. This was an Arizona car all of its life before coming to Florida. I believe I am the third owner. It has the factory 5-Speed manual transmission and rare air conditioning that is fully functional and blows nice and cold. This car is a genuine pleasure to drive -- it's like being in a time capsule. This does not appear to be a heavily restored car; it is a mostly original GT that has been lovingly cared for through the years. Take a look at the pictures below -- it still has its original window sticker, owner’s manual, tool kit and accessory light. The tool kit is like new and even has its original can of genuine Toyota touch up paint. Even the jack is like new. There are very few early Celica GTs remaining in such good condition -- this is a rare opportunity to acquire a great car. BODY / FLOORS / PAINT / CHROME: This is a remarkably solid car. The doors, hood and trunk lid open and close just like they should. I can’t find any rust holes anywhere in the body, floors, undercarriage or trunk. The bumpers and chrome are in excellent condition. It looks like it has had one repaint several years ago that was very nicely done. It still shines beautifully and has only very minor flaws here and there as you might expect from occasional use. It also has beautiful hand-painted pin striping. Overall, I would rate it a 9 out of 10. MECHANICAL: The engine starts easily, runs extremely well, and does not smoke or leak. The engine compartment looks original and correct to me except that the air cleaner and valve cover were chromed by the previous owner. The transmission, clutch and brakes feel excellent. The correct GT wheels are absolutely beautiful. The tires are in very good condition with lots of tread left. Although there can never be any guarantees with a 36 year-old car, I personally would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. INTERIOR: The interior appears to be original. The dash pad is spectacular with no cracks or fading at all. The seats, seat belts, headliner, etc. are in extremely nice condition for their age. Even the original carpets are still in good condition. GAUGES / ELECTRICAL: Everything works except the clock. Even the courtesy lights in the doors and the dome light in the ceiling shine brightly. It has a Clarion radio (probably from the early 80’s) that still works. It’s all pretty remarkable. DEPOSIT / PAYMENT / LEGAL: A $200 non-refundable PayPal deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The balance must be paid by cash, cashier’s check, or wire transfer within seven days of the end of the auction. Any cashier’s checks must clear my bank before the vehicle can be released. If the winning bidder fails to pay in accordance with these requirements, I may, at my option, make second-chance offers or re-list/remarket the vehicle and the deposit will be forfeited by the bidder. The sale location is Bell, Florida, Florida law governs, and venue lies exclusively in Gilchrist County, Florida. THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS-IS, WHERE-IS, WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. I have tried to describe this vehicle accurately and I posted lots of pictures. If you are unsure about bidding please come inspect and test drive it first. Please bid only if you are serious and have the money to complete the purchase. If you are the winning bidder you will have entered into a binding contract to complete the purchase in accordance with eBay rules. SHIPPING / PAPERWORK / SALES TAX: Arranging and paying for shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. I am a long-time classic car enthusiast and a licensed automobile dealer (Classic Investment Motorcars Inc.) This means that we must complete standard sales forms, and if you are in Florida you will pay applicable sales tax and tag/title fees. If the vehicle is shipped out of Florida by common carrier I will not collect the sales tax; you will take care of that where you live. I do not charge any dealer fees, processing fees or other junk add-on fees. Please feel free to email me or call me if you have any questions. My number is 352-283-0268. On Oct-18-10 at 13:36:30 PDT, seller added the following information: I wanted to add this in response to some phone calls I've received: The paint on this car is not faded at all. It is a high quality paint job that still has a very nice, deep shine. The paint actually looks nicer in person than in the pictures -- I tried taking pictures both in the sun and in the shade but none of them really came out as nice as I would like. Thanks.
