1988 1/2 SUZUKI SAMURAI 4X4 RARE TIN TOP w/ ACCESSORIES Real nice 1988 1/2 Suzuki Samurai JA Tin Top. The 88.5 models have the square dash and updated suspension. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the hard top was discontinued at the end of 88 so these updated versions are not very common. I have owned this little guy for over 10 years now (I am the 2nd owner). Its been so long I forgot when I bought it. She has been used as an extra car and just started up and give it a short run every month or so. I have always keep it in working order and "on the road" with plates until recently. The inspection sticker expired in June of this year. The truck is bone stock with no modifications. Just has some of the original factory accessories added below. The truck has some nice original accessories: Altimiter / Inclinometer Window Visors Digital Clock (it works but the light bulb inside is out so you can not see it at night) Day / Night rear view mirror Back speaker boxes (I never got around to puting a stereo in the truck so these have never been used) Back cargo storage container (they stoped making these years ago I believe) I recently did the following work: New fan Belt New Radiator (and replaced some of the hoses) Tune up New Timing Belt New Water Pump & Thermostat The tires are original stock Bridgestone's. I still have the orig receipt. They were bought in 2002 and still have 95%+ thread with no dry rot (see close up pic). like I said I used the truck very little but kept it moving every month. I think I have only put about 3k on the tires since 2002!!!! Things to note: It runs and drives fine. I wouldnt hesitate to take it out on a long trip. Note the truck is over 20 years old so I can not guarantee anything. Its being sold as-is where is. Clutch pedal is low (its been like that for years) but if its going to be a daily driver you may want to put a new clutch in it. The auto choke has never worked right since I have owned it. If its cold out you will need to keep your foot on the peddle a little until it warms up. Needs the muffler and exhaust pipe replaced soon. I had the cat done a few years back so that is fine. In my opinion it has minimal rust for a NE truck. Its mostly contained under the plastic pieces so its not too noticable. The floor is fine as well as the windshield frame. But it does have some rust in all the wheel wells (again, not that bad though compaired to most Suzuki's I have seen over here). Also under the side plastic trim. It looks like the metal "I" bar is rusting away that holds the trim in place but I dont see any real damage on the body itself. The hood has a small quarter size rust spot (see pics). The paint on the roof is all but fadded off from the sun. Front driver seat is torn & roof liner is loose in a couple of spots (see pics). All the lights, gages, wipers, etc. work fine. Truck shifts smoothly and tight, 4wd is working. There is nothing broken on the truck. All in all a great machine to own!!!
