I bought this 1975 Corvette Stingray with NOM engine and Automatic Transmission the intention of restoring it to a daily driver. Since then I have done very little to it. I have the engine and transmission running, but they need tuning and fluids. The interior looks good, but needs carpet and an arm rest. The frame has rust near the hump at back wheels. The gas tank appears to have been replaced. The car needs a good going over, it is driveable, but not street ready. There are some fiberglass repairs to be done along with needing a front bumper cover. I have a rear bumper cover that comes with the car, but it needs to be painted. Most parts are interchangeable for the following year Corvettes, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, and 1982 Corvettes. Of course not all parts will work with all these cars, but they do have alot of parts in common. There are alot of good parts, seats, dash, gauges, body panels, steering, engine, transmission, tops, headlights, brakes. But, it could be fixed up to be a daily driver. On Oct-11-10 at 15:55:26 PDT, seller added the following information: The motor and transmission appear to be fine, they will need transmission, brake and power steering fluids. The car has sat up for quite a while, I have driven it around the lot often, but I have not gotten it on the open road because of the brakes, they stop the car, but they are spongy. The motor just needs to be checked good, it doesn't smoke unless it sits up for a long time but then only when it initially starts, but I understand that it is normal for a puff of smoke to come out if they sit up because the valve seats. Some valve conditioner should take car of that, or just driving it for a while or it may need a valve job, I was going to do a valve job on it if I kept it, but right now I have too many projects and need a to sell one so I can finish up a 1970 Convertible and a 1971 coupe that is being Painted right now. The interior is in great shape - except the carpet and e-brake console. There is rust near the rear end and on the frame, but it should be repairable. There are 2 main fiberglass problem areas, there was a patch done on the front right at the bumper cover and on the left front behind the wheel well. I was going to repair them, and had started to clean out some of the previous repair attempt, but stopped when I got the 1971 Corvette coupe and didn't go back to it. I think it could be repaired without replacing any parts if you know a bit about fiberglass. That is about all I know about it. This car is being sold as - is, I have been completely honest about the condition and I welcome anyone to come look at the car and drive it around the parking lot befor bidding or buying. If any of this scares you, I do not have a problem with you cancelling your bid or not bidding. Restoring this car would be a job for someone with time, patience and skill. If you want to part it out, it should be worth it, if you have the time, I just don't have the time to do it myself.
