Vehicle Detail
For listing is 2001 Lexus IS300 in rare solar yellow exterior, black interior option. I'm the second owner of this car, which I bought 2 years ago in Florida. And it has always been stored in garage even here in Nebraska. So that's good news since this car is rust free. Options on this model are pretty standard as on any early years IS300's. Xenon headlights, sunroof/moonroof, traction control, am/fm cassette 6 cd in dash changer, power everything, 17 inch wheels, full spare tire....etc. I don't want to bore you and waste space by listing everything imaginable here. If you're in the business of buying this type of car, then you've probably done your research and know most of them. And if not, internet search will help out a lot. As with any car I own, regular maintenance is a key. And that's what I've been doing with this one also. Always changed fluids on time. Used Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil for engine (every 3000 miles). Paid attention to common things that fail on this car and fixed them before I got into trouble. Owner forums are great research tool. Glass is good with no cracks/chips of any kind. Paint is nice and shiny. Interior is in good condition as well. There are 2 small scratches on the dash (no idea where they came from, bought it this way). Please see pics. And also, my niece left a chewing gum on the passenger seat. I tried to take most of it out, but the process left the small mark. See picture also. So far some of the things repaired/replaced on this car while in my possession: New tires and brakes all around done early last year Oxygen sensors replaced 2 years ago (common thing that fails eventually) Front suspension, upper/lower, left/right control arm/bushings (due to aggressive suspension design, these fail due to wear and age-$$$$) Rear main seal (known problem on IS300/RX300 engines, will leak at some point guaranteed) Transmission mount (another weak point) PCV valve Transmission and coolant flush late last year 4 wheel alignment 3 months ago If you are looking for IS300, I advise you to at least remember some things off that list above. Check them out when looking for your next IS. It will save you money in the long run. The car has clear title and has never been in an accident. I do like to be honest and tell you some things that happened to the exterior. The front bumper and right headlight assembly has been replaced with a brand new ones from Lexus dealer. Reason for this, I parked my car behind the truck (with the hitch) at the local mall, and when I came back, found my IS with the cracked headlight and ugly scrape on the front bumper. The person with the truck backed into me and disappeared. Damage wasn't bad at all, but it made more sense to replace the bumper and headlight then to fix them. Work was done professionally and you can't even tell. Plus on the positive, you'll have no paint chips on the front. If you closely look at the back of the car, there is a small paint crack on top of the rear bumper. I did post the picture. No idea how this happened, but the quote I got from the reputable paint shop was $200 to take out. My ex left me a message with set of keys on both sides of the car. I didn't deserve it, but that left me with no other option but to re-spray both sides. The paint shop couldn't buff or take out the scratches, and they did nice job of laying another coat of factory paint. Unless you're in the business of body repair, it's hard to notice any difference. I'm describing things that some sellers wouldn't even tell you about. I'm an honest person, and think that if you end up owning this car, you should at least know its history. There are absolutely no mechanical problems with this car. You can drive it cross country. All of the miles accumulated have been 80% highway. I've never abused, raced, or modified it in any way. A lot of these IS300 go through "rice" treatment. Mine never did (I don't even have a K&N filter in it) . I always took good care of it. I can't think of anything else to mention, but if you have question, please ask, ask, ask. No good reason for selling it. I still like the performance and looks of this car (especially the interior gauge cluster). But I am getting into restoration project of BMW E28 and would like to create more space in my garage. The car is still under a loan, so your form of payment will have to clear before you decide to drive or ship it home. I will either pick you up from the airport or assist with shipping the car. Thanks for looking and good luck. On Oct-08-10 at 05:59:57 PDT, seller added the following information: People, please stop sending me insulting offers. You are getting an IS300 for a very low amount of money. I know the economy is bad, but come one!! Buy it now price is a very good deal. Look around and try to find this car for this price. Remember, I don't need money. I need space.
