Vehicle Detail
Genuine "Survivor" 1973.5 Porsche 911t Targa with 38766 actual miles and 100% original paint and interior. Probably the cleanest 100% original car of its kind in existence (this year, make, model, color). Stored in an elderly gentleman's garage in Piedmont California undriven for 25 years (please note the 1994 registration tags; he continued to register the car for nine years after he stopped driving it in 1985). The engine and transmission are both untouched original, and the car runs and drives as one would expect for an as-new 1973.5 Porsche. The black interior is nearly mint and 100% untouched. The factory talcum powder is still on the door rubbers. The carpet under the hood has never been taken out (note factory blue bolts still in place on both sides) and appears brand-new, and the wood insert looks lumber-store fresh. The tools, jack, owner's manual, and service booklet are all in excellent condition. The car has never been scratched or dented, and it has never been touched with a speck of paint, not a single touch-up anywhere. Some cans of the original color paint with German writing on them were included, and I believe they were delivered with the car new. A few blemishes accumulated in the original paint (all tiny) during the past 37 years, but we elected not to retouch them. That task should be completed by a concours restoration professional. Nothing on the car's exterior or interior has ever been replaced. Sorry to repeat myself, but I need to be clear: This is a genuine Survivor. It belongs in a collection. For every 1 original low-mile garaged early Porsche like this there are thousands of restored ones. When I discovered it I could not believe what I was looking at.
