The car was purchased by our customer (now the previous owner) about six years ago from an avid car collector. He had owned this rare car for a few years as well as numerous other exotic and rare cars. It is one of two (known) cars imported to the U.S. after having the wide body ProCar kit installed by AC Schnitzer, according to the collector. He bought it from the original U.S. owner selling it on consignment through the Auto Toy Store. Once he bought the car, he had it shipped to a high end German repair shop in Florida where it was worked on by expert mechanics. They went over the car and performed maintenance procedures and some minor modifications on the ignition system to make the car more reliable. They also rebuilt the Kugelfischer injection system. Since our customer purchased the car, he had it maintained by a German factory trained mechanic, Klaus Gohlke. It has been driven and/or started once per week. The starter has also been rebuilt. New tires were sourced from Europe to be placed on the BBS Motorsport three-piece rims. The car has no known issues – only slight cosmetic wear issues consistent with its age. Multiple original spare parts have been obtained, which are available separately or as a package with the car (extra cost). An extensive list can be compiled upon request.
