Vehicle Detail
I am selling my toy/project. Its a 1986 Suzuki Samurai. I bought this vehicle about a year ago for $1500. When i bought it the vehicle hadn't ran for a few years. Since then I have put the following new items on it: new tires, 15x10 rims (used), alternator, timing belt and seals, webber 32/36 carburator w/ manual choke, holley fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, fuel filters, seats from a honda civic (used) and a new "best top". It is now running good but there is a noise coming from the transfer case (I think it needs new bearings). I talked to someone else who has had numerous samurais and he said that was normal. (don't know?). I have and would drive this thing to work and back (15 mile trip one way) without worry of being stranded. However, it need a few things to pass inspection. I never put the front signal lights on and it needs brake work. The window's don't roll up and down. Needs a speedometer cable. I'm sure there are other things that could be needed but I never tried to get it inspected. When i bought this I had a toy hauler rv. I was fixing this up to go in it ( it only about 10' long). I never intended to or did i take it offroading. I was planning on making it a beach cruising street legal golf cart. The body is in decent shape (doors and tailgate open and shut with ease) with very minimal rust (few dents here and there but not that bad). The paint isn't in the greatest shape, it doesn't have the front bumper; but remember this is a project. I cut the hinges so I could take the doors off. I actually leave them off during the summer and park it in the garage. When I put the seats in I mocked up the bracket design with wood blocks and bolted them down. It worked so well I actually painted the blocks black and used them instead. It has been a fun project and parts for these vehicles are cheap, but I need to get a need car for family. I am starting the bid at 1500 which is what I bought it for before all the work and letting it go from there. You will need to bring a trailer to get it home. Like I said it runs good, but don't plan on driving it on a multihour trip home.
