Up for auction is a 1996 Grand Am GT. This vehicle has been owned by the original purchaser since it was bought new in '96. We don't use it anymore and have decided to sell it rather than let it sit in the driveway and rot away. I'll list some of the details below: The car runs but it does need a new batteryThe exterior of the car is dent free and has never been in an accident. Only the usual wear and tear for being 14yrs. old.The interior of the car is in excellent condition and has no rips in the seats. The interior is grey and was owned by a non-smoker. The door fabric on the driver's side has started to come undoneThe car has a sunroof that is fully functional and does not leakDashboard instrument panel needs replacing, speedo, tach, fuel and odo do not work. Flashers, High Beam indicators and turn signals still work.Odometer read 123,688 and the car was driven occasionally for 6 months afterwards so the actual mileage might be slightly higher but not by much.The A/C worked last summer but needs to have the refrigerant recharged.Alternator and water pump were replaced 2yrs. ago. Alternator makes a slight rattling sound but was checked out by mechanic and said it doesn't affect its operation.Rear seats fold down with access to the rear trunkThere is a water leak somewhere near the bottom of the front windshield or in the area just below and water leaks into the floorboard during heavy downpours.Tires have good tread left but there's some noticeable cracks on the sidewall from age.Car comes with full size spare mounted on original aluminum rim.The car passed NJ State Inspection last year even without a functioning instrument panel, emissions test passed.Speakers in the car work great. AM/FM Stereo with tape deck. Display on Radio is very dim to read.No Oil leaks or transmission leaksBrake rotors may need to be reground because of sitting but brake pads are fine.This car is worth its price just in the condition of the parts and body. It will run, just needs a few parts. The vehicle is for pickup only and will need to be towed or flatbed transported because there is no registration, plates or insurance on it now.
