Vehicle Detail

1969 Javelin SST (see photo link below) This is your chance to own one of the more desired, hardest to find American muscle cars out there. You see Camaro’s, Mustang’s, and Mopar’s all over the place. How often do you see a true AMC muscle car? I will start by saying that I am the owner of a restoration business. At this business I deal with vintage muscle cars every day. I’ve seen very rough ones and very solid ones come through my shop. This car would fall under the ‘very solid’ category. The person who owns this car originally bought it to build a drag car out of. After a good inspection and some research (and me beating him over the head for thinking of cutting it up) he has decided to sell the car in the condition he found it and use another car for a drag car. This car is not only very solid but is also very complete. It’s rare to find a vintage muscle car that somebody hasn’t cut up, modified, or taken parts off of. I was proud to look under this car and see solid floor pans and frame rails. There isn’t even any rust in the bottom of the doors. With the exception of the hood, the deck lid and a spot beside the back window, this car has amazing metal. This is a true SST car and might be a real Trans-Am racer ( see link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTSqh-bNBN4 ). It has a 390, 4V, AT, Tach dash, Air Conditioning, Power steering, Power brakes and a console. This car also had the wing over the back window. You will see the original holes for the wing in the pictures. That is one of the few items missing from this car. It’s refreshing to find an all original car that hasn’t had some amateur cramming it full of bondo and a giving it a cheap “garage” paint job in order to sell it for big money. As a restorer I prefer to find a car that has been untouched like this one rather than one somebody has ‘dolled’ up for resale. With this car you can actually see what you are buying. You see the car just as it was purchased. It has been setting for many years. Several years back a kid shot the windows out of it with a BB gun (replacement glass comes with the car). It did set outside in the weather after that happened, hence the moisture damage shown on the door panels. It was later moved to a barn and has been setting there since. The engine is stuck, but only from setting. It is not blown apart inside, only seized from setting for so many years. The spark plugs have been removed and a lubricant has been poured in the cylinders. The engine should free itself up without problems. I am not saying that you will be able to free it up and start driving it, but it should be easy to get the internals moving again. As with any vintage car that has been setting so many years, I always suggest a complete rebuild. The transmission does go through the gears and it pulls around in neutral and locks into park properly. As you will see in the pictures the cosmetic items on the car either need to be replaced or refurbished. Since these cars have become such collectors cars, a great deal of parts and supplies are now available for them. If I did not have so many project cars in my personal collection already I would buy this one for myself. There are few cars that will get more attention than a sharp Javelin or AMX. If you drive it to your local car show, you can be assured that you will be the only one there. If this car does not hit the reserve price (which is VERY low) it will be stored until spring so it can attend the Rod Run event in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. The price will be much higher at that event and one can be certain that it will go home with a new owner. As with all auctions, this is an AS-IS auction. Please ask all questions before you bid. I will always do my best to answer questions as fast and accurately as possible. Please ask all questions BEFORE you bid. I have little tolerance for bidders who do not pay or change their mind after bidding. If you do not have a feedback rating of 10 or more DO NOT BID without contacting me. If you do I will cancel your bid as soon as I see it. I have had auctions that were messed up because of non paying bidders and all had a feedback rating below 10. I am not saying that I won’t sell to a low feedback rating buyer, but you must contact me BEFORE you bid. I require a NON REFUNDABLE deposit of $500.00 paid by paypal within 24 hours of auctions end. I require final payment within seven days of auctions end. I will not make exception to this rule! I have had bidders/buyers not send the deposit saying they would bring all the money at time of pickup, then never show up to get a car, thus causing me to fight with ebay to recover my fees. I will not go through that again. No deposit, no sale! I would prefer the car be picked up as quickly as possible. I will gladly work with the buyer on a pickup date/time at auctions end. I will consider delivery within a reasonable distance for a fee. Delivery will only be made AFTER FULL PAYMENT has been received. Feel free to check my feedback. I have been in the vintage car business for a long time and take great pride in doing open and honest business. My reputation is how I advertise. Mark me as a favorite seller and keep an eye out for new items. I have a HUGE stockpile of vintage parts from many different kinds of cars. You never know what car or part I might decide to sell next. We do have this car advertised locally and reserve the right to end this auction at any time without notice. This car does not run! It will have to be hauled/towed from its location. We do have all the needed paperwork with the car and can transfer it into your name at time of sale. Always check my other auctions! Bid with confidence and bid to win! See photobucket of pictures here: http://s229.photobucket.com/albums/ee191/racemaster33/1969%20Javelin%20SST/
