This 1949 Buick Super, Convertible is in very good or excellent condition, but not showroom condition. It is not a Do Not Touch car, but is a fun to drive, attention getting show piece, and many people do think that it is a showroom car. The interior, dash, seats, engine, trunk, etc. are all original or NOS (new old stock) GM replacement parts. Radio and clock, all original, rebuilt to perfect working condition as is the spotlight, all dash instruments, turn signals, glove box, etc. Some exterior parts (fender turn signal housings, trunk latch, etc.) have been re-chromed. Carpet is red, hogs hair from an exact reproduction manufacturer in North Carolina and the light tan in color convertible top is padded, exact and proper from Hershey, Pennsylvania. The tan and black chain link boot (trunk) fabric is NOS from N. C. The engine is rebuilt with the crank turned to exact specifications. The Dynaflow, automatic transmission is also in perfect working condition. The GM turquoise engine paint is accented, as is the car, with exact decals from trunk to glove to engine. The New tires are High Society, Silver Towns by BF Goodrich with, of course, original stainless steel beauty rings on red rims with Buick logo on each hub cap. The only changes are the modern clear-coat moonlight blue paint job, inside and out, an original color, and the change over from 6 volt to a 12 volt system (which has re-energized the car). The regulator and generator are retained and in excellent condition if original restoration is desired. Everything on the car, lights, horn, ashtrays, radio, clock, etc. is in new, perfect working order. This Buick cruises at 70-80 mph and gets appox. 18-20 mpg hyway.
