Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a well-maintained 1999 BMW 540i. The vehicle currently has 169k miles. This is a none running car. The timing chain malfunctioned and the car stopped running. I purchased the car in its current condition becaue the previous owner could not afford to make the necessary repairs to get the car running again. It can be purchased for a parts car, but it might be worth the investment to have the engine repaired or replaced with a used or remanufactured one. The tires are brand new and the rims are only a year old. The body is in excellent condition - never having been in an accident. The paint is original, and the car was garaged until 6 months ago when it was parked. The interior is in great condition as well - with minimal wear exclusively to the driver's seat. There is just some minor cracks in the leather that comes from getting in and out of the car. Nothing that takes away from the overall appeal. The carpet is in great condition as well. The car has the "sport" package although it is not an "M" performance car. It has the articulated sport seats with thigh bolsters and the "M" insignia on the steering wheel. The car has all power options which do function as the should (turning the car on allows the windows, radio, etc. to work.) The rear drivers sid ewindow needs a regulator. I hate to sell a car as nice as this non-running but I don't have the time/money to devote to getting the work required but it would make a great vehicle to a new owner who decides to invest the $2 or 3k to get this great car running again. Should you decide to part it out - the rims, tires and seats alone would cover the cost of the car (my reserve.) Bid to win.
