Vehicle Detail

1983 Hurst Olds 2-owner car. Overall very good condition with 41,422 original miles. I bought this car locally a few months back from the original owner with the intent of holding on to it for awhile but have decided to sell it and move on to something else. I have not registered the car, title still shows in the original owner’s name. The car has not been driven for the past 14 years as far as I can tell. It seems to have sat in a carport in Phoenix the majority of the time. It has the original 307 V-8 and Hurst Shifters. Seems to have had a repaint of average quality, no dents or dings on the exterior. The interior is showing some fading from the sun. Front seats appear to have been reupholstered in original materials; back seat is excellent with the exception of fading at the top of the seat backs. Headliner is good; carpet is good with the exception of some fading on the passenger side (shown in pics). The top of the dash is in very poor shape from sun damage, a dash cover hides it well and the front of the dash is good. Door panels are good, but with fading at the top. It has the original Hurst shifters that work as they should. The bezel around the shifters is cracked and the car will only start in neutral. The key is stuck in the ignition, but in talking a friend who is a 30-year GM Master Mechanic, he said both the key and starting in neutral are easily fixed. It appears that one cluster of gauges is not working, could be a fuse, I’m not sure. Turn signal stalk needs repair and the chrome (plastic) covers for the sides of the front seats are missing. Speedometer, odometer and tach work as they should. A/C is not currently working, was told it just needs a recharge, but I don’t know for sure. I have taken the car on short drives as it runs and shifts as it should, but this car has sat for years and needs to be thoroughly checked before driven any distance. Overall this car is in great condition for its age. It would take very little to get it to excellent shape. These cars are on ebay occasionally and rarely sell because the owner is either emotionally attached to the car and wants more than its worth, or the owner has an inflated value of the car. I have neither. If you’ve watched these on ebay, they commonly have a $10k to $15k reserve and rarely sell. My reserve is less than half of what you’ve seen on ebay recently, so bid with the intent of actually winning the car! I try to describe the cars I sell very accurately and honestly. I recently bought a vintage BMW on ebay and after flying to San Diego to pick it up found it to be substantially less than described. I try to describe every detail, but may miss something, so if you’d like to contact me and ask any questions please feel free to do so. Thanks! On Sep-30-10 at 18:54:29 PDT, seller added the following information:I appreciate everybody's bids, but I forgot to mention that if you have a feedback rating of less than 10 you need to contact me prior to bidding. If you've already bid please get with me before you place an additional bid. Thanks!
