Vehicle Detail
I am selling my Intruder 800 to make room for a slightly larger, newer bike. This bike is in good mechanical condition. I rode it to a rally in Arkansas a week ago (1000 mile round trip), and to South Padre Island in July (1600 mile round trip) with no problems. It does use about a quart of oil every 1000 miles. I will post better pictures when the weather clears up, but in the meantime... there are a few scratches in the paint, there are some new scuffs in the windshield from a guy who wanted to 'test drive' it and fell over in the parking lot. The left saddle bag is scuffed, and the left foot peg is bent (from a previous adventure). And, the right highway peg is broken. The bike also needs a bath. The good part is, it's ready to ride. It comes with the saddle bags and scuffed windshield attached, and it is reliable. I rode it all winter, weather permitting, and all summer. If you want to save on shipping, buy me a bus ticket home, and I'll ride it to your house after you buy it. Or you can come get on it and ride it home yourself; it's ready to go. I am 5 feet eleven and 215 pounds, and the bike is comfortable for me although it does get a little cramped after 300 or so miles at a stretch. Some people consider this bike small, but it can handle the highway without problems. It can't keep up with my friend's Harley 1200 Screaming Eagle, but it will walk away from a Honda Shadow 750. The fastest I've had it is 110 mph on the interstate. It's had regular oil changes; the tires were new in July, they have about 3000 miles on them now, but still look good. This was my first motorcycle (had it about a year), and it is the perfect learner's bike. It is small enough and light enough to be easy to maneuver in town, even for a smaller man or a woman, but it is plenty powerful enough to get on the interstate. And, for a beginner, you can buy this bike to practice on and drop occasionally without spending a ton on a new bike then scratching it. Then, pass this one on to someone else who is just getting into biking as I hope to do. It comes with a National Cycle Plexifairing 3 windshield, saddle bags, sissy bar, and a Clymer shop manual. The luggage strapped on in the photos stays with me; they were on there for the Arkansas trip. The buyer will have to arrange shipping or pickup. When you buy it, it may have a few more miles than the listing says; I am still riding it to work everyday. I will stop putting miles on it when my new bike gets here. The winning bidder will have to put a 30% down payment through Paypal within 48 hours of the auction close. For the balance, I prefer money order, or cash if you come to pick it up. Please ask plenty of questions, and keep checking back for more and better pictures. The scuffs on the windshield don't show up in the pic, but they are there and quite large in real life. Everything else is true to the pics. Email any questions.
