Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1988 Dodge Dakota pickup. I am the second owner having purchased it in the spring of 2002 with about 125,000 miles. For the first four years I used it as a commute vehicle to/from college, and after 2006 I kept it as a 'second car'. The truck is in good condition for its year and age. As you can tell from the pictures there is practically no rust on it except a few spots near the windshield area. It does have some scratches and a few small dents but overall I d say the body is better than you'd expect for a 1988 truck. 8ft detachable cap is also in decent shape, e.g. it does not leak, I drove it through very heavy rain a few months ago and all the stuff inside stayed dry. This truck has a long 8 ft bed and it's also rust free. Mechanically, this truck runs and drives well, I never had any engine or transmission problems with it. The exhaust pipe was replaced a few years back and the power steering pump + maybe a few belts, but other than that, routine maintenance is all it ever needed. All four tires have less than 4000 miles on them, so the tread looks almost new. 4x4 works, although its noisy but it does work (used it during through all of last winter's snowstorms we had in Philly). 4x4 was noisy when i bought the truck, but since i don't use 4x4 that often and it still works, I didn't feel like messing with it. Normally I drive it in a 2WD and it drives just fine as it should. This truck does not leak oil or any other fluids. It was inspected last December, so the inspection is good until December this year. Since last inspection I only put 2000 miles on it, so it should not need much for next one. Last oil/filter change was done in the spring this year. The reason I am selling is because I don't really have much use for it anymore. I also listed it for sale locally for the same price as the "Buy it now" option, e.g. $1200. KBB estimate for exact same 1990 Dakota pickup (KBB only goes back to year 1990), without the cap, ranges from $1775 in fair condition to $2400 in excellent. There are no liens and the title is clear and in hand. Good luck!**Due to my prior eBay selling experience and in order to preserve the integrity of the auction, I will cancel any bids from buyers with less than 3 positive feedbacks. If this applies to you and you are serious about buying please contact me prior to submitting your bid. I don't want to discourage anyone, just trying to avoid fake bidders running up the price and ruining the auction for everyone. Thank you for understanding!***I had to relist this truck because the photos were showing up real small on the original listing.
