Vehicle Detail
We have had this car for the past 5 years. In summary, it looks a bit rough but is mechanically sound. I have tried to describe this as accurately as I can. You are more than welcome and encouraged to come and see the car in person. Anything I have left out of the description is relatively minor and is an oversight on my part - it would not significantly change the value or function of the vehicle. You are buying a 15 year old car - it looks like a 15 year old car and is priced accordingly; if you are looking for a pristine Jeep this is not it. It does run well and is fully functional. The Good:Drives well - runs just as well as when we got it. Oil has been changed every 5K miles or so. Unsure of other maintenance although it was very well cared for before we got it. Transmission (5 speed) shifts well (1st is tight in winter). Shifts easily between 2/4 WD. Relatively new tires on it - maybe 15K miles on them if that. Brand new battery on it. New speakers and stereo.Started replaced <2 years ago. Hardtop.Great in snow - lots of funs to drive. Extras - Light bar, softtop frame, original bumpers. The Bad:One tire is flat - price has been adjusted for this. Will put on full-size spare before car is sold. It is not a traumatic flat, although I have not checked to see if it can be repaired. Limited rust on body - pictures are included of the worst spots.Minor body damage - 2 to 3 inch dimple in driver's fender. A couple scratches and scrapes across the rest of the body but nothing major. Muffler is tied together with copper wire - the pipe from the cat to the muffler fell out of the muffler. No way to secure it other than tying it together. The muffler itself was replaced several years ago and works fine aside from this issue. It is a little loud but nothing approaching a straight pipe. The aftermarket step up bar fell off on the passenger side. There is some rust on the front and rear aftermarket bumpers. Hardtop securely fastened but is not airtight. A few of the bolts are missing. E-brake does not work. Tach backlight is out - all other lights (interior and exterior) work fine. The rubber liner for the windshield is warped by age and has about 4 inches of extra slack in it. Driver's interior door handle pull is busted (still opens and closes fine but a little more difficultly) - the door swing limited lash is also busted on driver's side. As mentioned above - this includes the hardtop. I have the softtop frame and top if you would like them (for free). The softtop has some holes chewed in it by mice and the zipper is busted for the back window. Also includes a top light bar (took off because you can't use it with softtop) and the original "bumpers". Please feel free to email to set up a time to look at it or if you have any questions.
