Vehicle Detail

I purchased this rust-free Lancia Beta Coupé in San Francisco two years ago. This car was been beautifully repainted the in the original color last year, and re-upholstered with good quality leather. The dash has some cracks. I have a correct dash cap, included with sale. I replaced the ugly US bumpers with stainless-steel European versions, which really sets this Beta apart from the rest. This is truly a small, quick handling Italian GT, comparable to Alfa Romeos.....or a miniature Maserati, if you dream a bit. The car runs beautifully, and I find the simple, clean design quite elegant. The twin back bucket seats add a real “gran turismo” touch to this great sports car. The A/C actually works, but is not up to the hottest days. (Doesn't "need a charge," that's the way it is). A previous owner adapted to R-134, which for the ozone layer was good, but for cooling, probably not a great idea. The suspension is quite firm, with Koni struts. Brakes are power discs all around, and this Beta, like most US cars, has power steering. The timing belt was changed at the time of purchase. The exhaust system has been upgraded and looks and sounds great! The wheels could use a refinishing, but I have brand-new center caps that are included. In addition to the pictures in this add, here is a link to albums of more pics showing the undercarriage and the car before and during painting. On leaving the body shop, a moron in a Jeep “tapped” the rear of the car, requiring replacement of one tail lamp, and pieces of stainless trim. The 30 year-old bushings in the shift linkage cracked from the shock, and all were replaced with a rebuild kit, so it shifts like a new car. Other than that repaired “ding,” the car is accident-free. At some point, I believe the windshield was replaced by a previous owner. http://web.me.com/georgemia/Site/My_Albums/My_Albums.html Lancia Betas have a following, and parts are easily found on the net. You can get a great sounding Italian Exotic for credit card money. This is a California version car, and I have not changed the emissions system. I have no reason to think it wouldn't pass smog, but I can make no promises. It was last "smogged" about a year before I purchased the car. I am asking a bit more than the last few Betas I've seen here and on the net, but if you do the body work they need, etc, you still won't have as nice a car, and you'll be out lots more money. The last Beta sold here went for $500. I know that car, the buyer has already re-sold it because he realized what it would take to set the body straight. If "buy the best car you can" is the motto of the smart collector, this is the Beta to buy. Buyer is responsible for shipping, but I will assist. Fort Lauderdale is a major port, so European shipping would be easy. I won't accept offers from people with zero or negative feedback. I will not deal with your Indonesian or Nigerian bank. I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime.
