Vehicle Detail
I am thinning the herd! I have way too many projects that I could never finsih in my lifetime so facing reality it is best to thin the herd and let someone else have some of my projects rather than let them sit any longer. This is a 1967 2 door hardtop Fairlane 500. I found this car through one of my wife's coworkers...her husband passed away and the car sat for years....the car sat on a concrete pad on blocks with the suspension hanging since 1980ish! It still has a Alabama Crimson Tide 1978 Championship tag on the front bumper. This car has Factory Air Conditioning and power steering. The original 289 was replaced with a 302 around 1978...otherwise everything is original. It has the factory Styled Steel wheels as well. The car has all the trim and moldings complete and in nice condition. It does have some rust issues and will need a battery tray/apron, floor pans, trunk floor work and some patching on the quarter panels. The doors are very solid with just some rust starting at the front corners, fenders are rust free, quarter panels need some patch work at the bottom and the LH quarter needs work on the edge by the trunk lid where debris sat in the drip channel causing rust. The trunk lid has rust in the area on the side matching the damage on the quarter, the hood is rust free. The door data plate codes are as follows: Body: 63B; Color: T; Trim: 4A; Date: 16J; DSO: 21; Axle: 1; Trans: W. The car is originally red with a black vinyl roof. The ONLY things I have done to the car since purchasing it was to remove the front brake hardware becuase the wheels were locked up from sitting(I burned up my $600 winch on my trailer dragging it from the pad where it sat for nearly 30 years and I replaced the valve covers simply because they was no paint on them and I had a nicer set and wanted to look inside the engine to see the condition and verify it was a 302. Inside the engine appears clean and it turns over by hand, I have not tried to start it but have no doubt it will run. The fuel tank obviously needs to be replaced. I also replaced the flat dry rotted bias ply tires with some that hold air so that I could move it easily if needed. The car is complete and aside from the replacement 302 completely unmolested and original. This would be extremely valuable to you as a parts car if you are restoring one or a great project car to restore since it is complete. I hate to let it go but I have prioritized my projects and this is just one that didn't make the cut on my list of what I want to restore most/first. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Due to prior auctions I do not allow bidders with 0 Feedback....sorry but a few have ruined it for everyone and I don't want my time wasted. The car is for sale locally as well so I reserve the right to cancel the auction pending a local sale. If you are new to ebay and have no feedback then just email me and we will talk by phone. If you have special circumstances that won't allow you to meet auction terms then please contact me prior to bidding to make arrangements. If you would like to come see the car in person just email me and I'll be happy to set up a time. Alabama does not issue titles for cars of this age so the car is sold on a bill of sale which every other state accepts from Alabama. Any questions...feel free to ask.
