Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 0 1 471 2686 22 5 3298 11.773 0 0 0 This is a 1977 BJ-43 it is a one of a kind truck. The 43 series trucks have a longer wheelbase then the 40’s providing more room inside the truck for people and gear; and provides a smoother ride. They are very unique and rare this one is even more of an exception do to all the custom work. Do not pass up this opportunity to own one of the most unique of the famous and storied Land Crusher. This Truck was purchased in 2006 and subsequently went through an extensive frame off restoration at Cruiser Creations in NH. All rust and body damage was repaired and the upper side panels reconfigured. The roof is new and is made from fiberglass. The original engine and transmission were eliminated in favor of the 1-HZ 6-cylinder Toyota diesel with an AXT turbo and a MAF aluminum radiator. The exhaust is a custom 3” stainless steel system with an Aero Turbine muffler. It has a H-55F five-speed transmission mated to a Fairey overdrive that works in four-wheel drive hi and lo. The transfer case was re-built. The axles are from an 80 series with a fully floating rear end with a Downey cable actuated differential lock they have 4:11 gears. The actuator is a small silver handle mounted to the floor next to the driver’s seat. The suspension is an Old Man Emu leaf spring set up. The brakes are all disk by Monster Caliper. The wheels are American Racing Ar-3981 Mojave Wheel and the tires are LT285/75R16 122/119P OWL Goodyear Wrangler MT/R. The frame was stripped bare and treated with anti-corrosion polymers. The body tub was primed and treated with Line-X custom tinted to match factory Desert Beige, underneath and inside. The body inside has insulation on the floor and up the firewall under the carpet. There is a Safari Snorkel with a custom crossover to get the air over the engine to the air box. (Not pictured) All the door gaskets and window channels are new, as well as door handles and window cranks. (One of the window cranks stripped was looking for OEM metal cranks no luck yet). All exposed hardware (nuts bolts) were specified to be stainless steel there are a few that are not. All glass and seals are new. The cab is outfitted with Bestop TrailMax Thermal Pro Seats with sliders in the front and fold forward seats in the back. The steering column and power steering are from a 62 series. It has factory heat and air conditioning. Cruiser Solutions installed the carpet kit, headliner, and the Kenwood stereo with six speakers and subwoofer. The subwoofer is under the driver seat. The head unit is set in a Tuffy center console with lock. There is a Maxi-Lock hood lock to the left of steering column below ignition, this unit can be set up to disable the trucks starter relay so when it is locked the truck cannot be started. (However this feature is not currently hooked up). The gauge cluster is an Auometer after market set (the speedo has a bug in it and works occasionally). In the center of the dash there are two additional factory pull knobs, one for the hazard lights and one for the Hella off-road lights set in the center of the ARB bull bar. As for the rest the pictures speak for themselves. Please contact with any further questions. All documentation of work done, as it is, will be provided. Truck is sold as is.
