This is an EXTREMELY original first year r100cs. I am selling two really nice airheads. The other is a GS/PD which is listed on eBay at the moment as well. I am a 56 year old BMW enthusiast. Not a dealer, or even a real collector, just a little OCD I hear. I bought this bike from its original owner in Santa Fe NM a few years back. I had to. I found it in one of those Cycletrader magazines, and it is exactly like one I owned 20 years ago. I rode it from NM to Minneapolis without a hitch. The bike is an original CS. Check the VIN. First year, in what I believe they called "Classic Black", which is black with a little metal flake in it. It comes with the bags that I believe where made by Kaizer for BMW. The bags work great, and they never did figure out a better luggage system for my money. I had the fluids changed, put in a new good battery, put on new tires (now 1500 miles old), and had the carbs cleaned/rebuilt. The bike has Koni shocks, and progressive fork springs. Other than that it is original, and solid. Compression checked out great. There is one repair in the front cafe faring that is a triangle shaped patch about 2inches x 2inches x 2inches. The owner told me he was trying to patch a rock chip, and lost interest. The paint and stripes are all original. I am guessing it is not the original saddle only because it is in such good shape. It is the correct one, and I forgot to inquire about it. It is really a nice example. It is a 30 year old, 40k bike that has been really well cared for. Nothing pristine, or concourse about it. I did my best to photograph it as well as I could. This is a no reserve auction. It will go seven days, and the bike will belong to the highest bidder.
