Vehicle Detail

Since the last buyer never paid, our 2001 Miata LS is back for sale with No Reserve, and a lower opening bid. This car was a buyback from insurance, and I am just trying to cover my costs. Please read this auction in its entirety, and if there are any questions, please ask. We have owned this car for over two years, and only recently was it involved in an accident. As the pictures show, it has sustained front end damage, and air bags have deployed. No one was injured in the accident. This would be an easy repair for someone with the time and ability to do so. Don’t miss this opportunity to get a nice car for a very low price. Before the accident, the car’s history was clean. This car is an LS model, with the 6 speed manual transmission. As an LS, it has leather interior, the 6 speed, Bose radio system, factory sports suspension/big brakes, and a limited slip differential. It has an aftermarket muffler on it now. The engine runs great, and the transmission shifts tight and smooth. See the video that shows the Miata running. In addition, it has a real rollbar, not one of the vanity bars that can be found on so many Miatas. It also has new Tein lowering springs, and new Tokico shocks that have less than 500 miles on them. Before meeting the back end of the Accord, it was a very nice car. It comes with the factory bonnet for the top. The remaining headlight works, and has a clean lens. If you wanted to fix this car, here is the list of parts that I put together (this may not be complete): Hood, DS fender, front bumper, radiator core support, windshield. Radiator, DS headlight, drivers airbag, passenger airbag, airbag module, seat belts. If you did not want to fix the car, and have the space and time to dismantle it, you could easily make money on it. I will be parting it out if it does not sell whole, but I would rather just move it as is, complete. Purchasing used parts as much as possible, I totaled what is needed to fix the car at ~$1800, not including paint. Obviously, if you have to have new parts this cost would be higher. So, one could have a nice 2001 Miata, with new paint for well under $4000. Looking at the remaining body seams, the chassis does not appear to be bent. The hit it sustained was not that bad, it just went under the back of the Honda. I was going to fix the car myself, but I simply have too many other projects that I am trying to finish and do not have the time. Make my loss your gain. This is a North America auction only, I will cancel all bids that come from other countries. Sorry about this, but dealing with customs, shipping, and exchange rates to too much extra work on my part. If you are outside of North America, have someone else bid on the car on your behalf that is in North America. This is the last time I will auction the entire car. If this ends without a sale, I will be parting her out. If you do not plan on paying for this car, do not bid. Do all of your shipping research before bidding so you fully understand what your expenses will be. I expect that the cost for shipping anywhere in the United States is $1000 or less, shop around. Shipping is not included in this price, neither is storage if you can not take delivery of car within two weeks of auction close. I can work our storage arrangements with you, but this cost is additional, and will have to be prepaid in full. ONE MORE THING, IF YOU DO NOT INTEND ON BUYING THE CAR, DO NOT BID!!! Even now, as the video shows, the car runs. The brakes are making a little noise because the car has been sitting for over two months while we decided what to do with it. The radiator, which I stated needs to be replaced, is still holding coolant. There has been no engine or transmission damage at all. She does not leak oil or transmission fluid. The interior is in very good shape, it is a 9 year old car with 108,000 miles on is. We also added an audio port for plugging in an MP3 player or Ipod into the Bose system, and it sounds great. Car comes wired for a subwoofer in the trunk. Take a good look at all pictures, and if you have any questions, please ask. This is a No Reserve auction, it will sell if a bid is entered. It will need to be towed, or trailered to your location. We can help arrange delivery, but the cost of this is not included in the sale price. I have a stellar Ebay rating, and will work my best to make this sale good for all parties. This car is mine, I am not selling this for someone else. It is in my garage, and ready to go. Please see shipping info for details.
